Hello everyone!

This is the official mailing list for the libfec open source project, a CLI tool for working with federal campaign finance data from the FEC!

I created this group after presenting libfec for the first time at NICAR26, to provide a space for answering questions and sharing knowledge with data journalists and others interested in untangling the mess that is campaign finance.

Google Groups/email lists are a bit outdated, but after being burned by dozens of Slack groups, Discord servers, and GitHub issue threads, going back to email doesn't seem that bad!

Here are some ways I see this Google Group being used:

- Announcements and demos of new libfec releases

- Sharing federal campaign finance news articles and re-creating them with libfec

- Asking for help with SQL queries on libfec-generated databases

- General FEC data questions and help

Feel free to ask any libfec or FEC data related questions in this group! Keep in mind, the group is (currently) public, and anyone is (currently) allowed to join.
