Hi everyone,

Today I went to the protest in DC to take photos. It began at the Embassy of Myanmar (2300 S St., NW, Washington, DC), and then proceeded to the Embassy of China. Please disregard the first six photos of the album, I neglected to erase them from my camera.

Here is the Picasa album; it is not a public album. Please feel free to post any of them on your respective sites, I will be posting later this evening, I need to go through them and delete those which are blurry -- there are several, apologies in advance -- and write up captions.

Just a bit of info: the protesters are calling for a boycott of the 2008 Olympic Games; will continue the same protest route every day (starting tomorrow) beginning at 1:30pm; was entirely peaceful, with the monks praying that the military government cease the violence and understand the people's objections (note: they never called for an overthrow of the government -- a true religion of peace) and asking for peace and reconciliation; Chinese diplomats made an appearance toward the end of the protest and started taking pictures (I'm sure there are a few of me, as I was taking pictures of them) after protesters continually repeated the chant: "Shame on you, China!"

If anyone needs clarification on what the pictures are, feel free to shoot me an e-mail either at this address or roli...@gmail.com. Also, while I'm thinking of it, please don't pass out this e-mail address to others, as it has my last name, and I would prefer that it not be pasted all over the internet -- thank you in advance for your consideration.

I hope you all find yourselves well, wherever you may be!

Best,

Kate
