Is anyone interested in solving board repair problems? I have an old, lightly glassed, fiberglass, 6'2 x 20 X 2.5 board that i really love. But, it developed a strange stress mark crossed the bottom of the board last time i used it. It seems like it has buckled perfectly laterally across the middle of the board on the bottom side. It is still in one piece and seems solid, the top of the board shows no signed of stress. You can kind of see the problem in the picture. I am wondering if there is anything i can do to strengthen it before it breaks, or if i should just make it into a coffee table? I have seen boards that have been broken in half repaired before, but have never repaired a board myself aside from simple dings. Does anyone have experience or advice for me?
Thanks a million

Good to see any activity on here at all! Even repair questions always welcome. My 6’2 did the exact same thing and is still going strong. But you don’t want to just surf it like that. John’s right on the money, but the strip of cloth only needs to be about 4” wide across the length of the crease (sounds like a small difference from 6”, but these will add a noticeable amount of weight, so minimize it as much as you can). Sand it down really well. You might reveal some small cracks. Just leave them there. Make sure it goes all the way around the rail, too, not just on the bottom. Also a good sand will allow you to keep it pretty flat after getting the glass on there. Put the cloth on and pour the resin right on the cloth, then work it back and forth, until it goes into the fibers and covers everything.
