Equality Now has just issued Women's Action 16.11, Update August 2010 - Words and Deeds: Holding Governments Accountable in the Beijing +15 Review Process which calls on governments to support the creation by the Human Rights Council of a special mechanism on women's equality before the law, including through active engagement on the half-day discussion at the September 2010 session of the Human Rights Council. The Action also calls on governments to ensure that the laws mentioned in our Beijing +15 report, and any other discriminatory laws in force, are repealed or amended as a matter of urgency.
