Hi there,
I am wondering, if setting soft-evidence is possible with libDAI. I want to set a fixed evidence of uncertainty (e.g. P(A=0)=0.2, P(A=1)=0.8)). Up to now, I only found the clamp() method, which can set hard-evidence. I've also read about the possibility of adding an auxiliary child-knot, which can be set with a hard-evidence and thus sets the desired soft-evidence to the parent-knot (by first calculating the needed CPT of the child).
What do you think is the best way of achieving this? Is there anything implemented already?
Thanks!

Any answer on this question? Is it possible to set soft or virtual evidence in libDAI and use the inference algorithms on these?
Thanks, Daniel

Hi Daniel,
there's no built-in support for that, but you can always introduce an auxiliary
factor into the factor graph that allows the soft-evidence to be specified.
