How to create Makefile on MAC

I'm trying to add this dependency, and I ran this command, as per https://bitbucket.org/jorism/libdai.git

 

sudo port install gmake boost gmp doxygen graphviz

But the next step talks about the Makefile, how do we create this and how do we know what the path would be? Thanks so much!
