Could not find or load main class in java with a 3.8 kernal

I'm relatively new to using Linux and the BBB, so I'm trying to run the BBB with java, which I am much more familiar with. However, when I try to initialize my code on the BBB, it gives me the error message "Could not find or load main class". I've read similar posts about this problem, however I'm running a 3.8 kernel with Angstrom SoftFP, therefore I don't know what the problem is. Has anyone come across this problem? Any advice would be much appreciated
