Hi all,

I'm a new new beginner in machine leaning and graphical modesl. For noe, I'm interested in doing learning stuff (collecting data) and modeling dependence among several random variables. Then, doing some inference in order to get results. However, I don't know from where to start. After some search on the net, I installed R and Rstan ( first time to install them I don't practice the language) in order to achieve the objective. However, I encountered this group and I m asking if some can tell me how touse libbi. some suggestions or advices, thanks.

Hi Fred,

Sounds like you have some data, what you will also need in order to use Stan or LibBi or some other modelling software is a model.

If this is new to you, I would suggest picking up a textbook on machine learning or statistics and doing some background study on how you might go about appropriately modelling the phenomenon that you are interested in, or reading some papers describing models previously used in the area of interest. Once you have a good idea---mathematically speaking---of what your model should look like, we can help you to get that model implemented in LibBi.

Regards,

Lawrence
