Bring down the house: An easy way to avoid an awkward moment with the flute solo is if you have someone from your group play the air-flute. It might make the audience laugh, which will also help you loosen up on stage.

Performance notes: If you decide to do this song, it's best not to think about it as a song you're singing. It's really a performance. If you watch the video, it's almost as if it came straight from a show on Broadway. And it's important to treat it as such. Honestly, if you don't know this song in-and-out, don't do it.

@babuchas01 Check the pinned thread at the top of the Bug Reports forum titled Common Game Fixing Mods, and scroll down. Look for the link to karaokeduetfilterfix by Bienchen. I've had that mod/fix installed for several months at this point and it seems to work perfectly.

I have that mod and it still doesn't seem to work for festival days at least not for me. Every other time seems to be working fine now, but just today I went to the spice festival with a co-worker and he wasn't available as a karaoke duet option.

We first met Andy in early 2012 when he was playing with local Zeppelin tribute Dazed and Confused. He was a great addition to the ROK lineup, and having a second bass player on the roster would allow us to play much more often during those busy years. Andy committed to learning the 200+ songs on our list and had them all down within a matter of weeks. It certainly helped that he was a natural rocker and loved so many of the tunes we played.

Those of you who are OG Rock Out Karaoke fans will remember we played the Fair several years in a row (this same stage was called the Showcase Stage back then). We even thought it worthy of blog posts in 2010 and 2011.

Over the next year or so, life events and career choices meant we would need to replace drummer Nick who moved to Portland. We auditioned a few drummers, but none were a great fit for the group for a variety of reasons. Luckily, we had crossed paths with Eric Ganci previously, who was ready to join immediately.

Details and dates are fuzzy, but over the next few years we added more band members to round out our group and create redundancy in each position so that we could commit to more work. Guitarist Rob Wells joined after we convinced him to leave his own cover band (though we think he may have been cheating on us a bit in those early days). Bass Dave Swendsen and guitarist Mike Stoltz had both played in a band called Meld with Eric, so they were a natural fit. Drummer Matt Souza was also a key member for many years before moving to LA.

Stingray was founded in May 2007 by Eric Boyko and Alexandre Taillefer, in partnership with Telesystem, following the purchase of karaoke company Soundchoice for $6 million. This gave them a catalogue of karaoke songs and a karaoke channel, allowing them to create The Karaoke Channel (now known as Stingray Karaoke).[2][4] Later that year, the company acquired cable TV commercial-free music service Galaxie from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for $65 million, renaming it Stingray Music.[5][6] Taillefer exited the company in 2010.[5] In 2011, Stingray acquired Music Choice Europe.[7]

In May 2015, Stingray raised $140 million in its initial public offering. The sale gave the firm a market value of $296 million.[2] It began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange on June 3, 2015, under the ticker RAY. Novacap sold most of its stake in the company after the IPO.[4]

On May 2, 2018, Stingray announced its intent to acquire Newcap Radio for $506 million, marking the company's expansion into terrestrial radio broadcasting in Canada.[8] The sale was completed on October 26, 2018, with the family of company founder Harold R. Steele becoming Stingray's largest third-party shareholder.[9] In December 2018, the company changed its name to Stingray Group.[10]
