Thanks for watching! We hope you found this tutorial helpful and we would love to hear your feedback in the Comments section at the bottom of the page. You will find a written version of this tutorial below, and a printable PDF copy to download on the Download Resources tab above.

Corner handles can be dragged to resize while maintaining the aspect ratio, and side handles can stretch or narrow. Clicking and dragging the X moves the polygon, and keeping the Shift key pressed constrains the move to be horizontal or vertical.

As long as a polygon is selected, you can change outline width, line style, left-click a color swatch to add a solid fill, and right-click a color swatch to set the outline color. You can also change the number of sides.

To make changes to a polygon, you can first select it. You can select any polygon while the Polygon tool or another shape tool is active, or you select it with the Pick tool.

You can activate the Shape tool while a polygon is already selected, or you can select a polygon with the Shape tool. This produces nodes at each corner and at the midpoint of each side.

Clicking and dragging any node produces the same shape at every corner or side, resulting in a star shape. With the Ctrl/Cmd key pressed, each node remains the same distance from its adjacent nodes.

Without the Ctrl/Cmd key pressed, you can drag nodes to twist the shape. You can even drag nodes inward (with or without pressing the Ctrl/Cmd key) to get an overlapping star shape.

If you want to adjust individual nodes without maintaining even sides and corners, first press the Spacebar to temporarily switch to the Pick tool, which selects the polygon. Then click Convert to Curves on the property bar.

Once converted, you can press the Spacebar to go back to the Shape tool and adjust individual nodes. You can also drag a selection marquee around multiple nodes to move them together.

Hi Tammy,
It would depend on what the size of the monument is. The maximum document size in PHOTO-PAINT is 100100 inches I believe, so if that is not large enough for the monument you could create the elements in PHOTO-PAINT and then assemble them in a CorelDRAW document which allows for a much larger document size.
Hope this helps,

I have Corel Draw 2019 and tried to follow the instructions provided by Lightburn to install their macro. But none of the menus that the pdf from LightBurn match up with the drop down menus in Corel Draw. does someone have an updated pdf that applies to corel draw 2019?

Step 6 is different in that the selection is Tools->Options->Customization. In the Customization window select/click Commands in the left column and select Macros from the center column dropdown. Step 7 is the same.

Now select tools->options->customizations. Select commands on the left, macros in the pulldown. You should see Macros.lighburn. Select it, then choose the apperance tab. There you can select you icon which should be in your LightBurn install folder.

Hi to everyone here! I am new to designing. As I am in marketing field, I have to work on websites alone. There is jpg image. Our boss wants the image as such, but wordings/textual content found in image has to be changed. Can anyone advice any fast method to change the text alone in Corel draw or Photoshop whichever is easier.

Recreating it is likely to be the only feasible way. You may be able to comp out the text and redo the new text on a separate layer. It all depends on the image vs text and how much of the original image remains. Can you upload it, so we can see what is required. It is impossible to say without.

Jpeg is also using lossy compression. The explanation of what that means would be getting off the point, but the consequences of it are that each time a jpeg file is opened, saved, and reopened, the quality is degraded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Membership and Subscription Acquisition and Renewal

Whats the difference between Subscription and Membership?

Subscription is a payment method, effectively allowing you to rent CorelDRAW Graphics Suite for a fixed period of time (with renewals if desired). Once your subscription expires, you will no longer be able to use the software. Membership is an additional offering for owners of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6, entitling them to additional benefits such as online access to digital content, new product features, etc.

How do I upgrade from a 30 day to a 365 day subscription?
This can only be done from within your corel.com account. To purchase a renewal subscription within your active subscription period, you must sign into your account on corel.com, then click the Membership and Subscription link, select the Upgrade button, and select the 365 day subscription option while going through the purchase workflow.

I purchased my Subscription by calling Corel and cannot convert my trial into my CorelDRAW subscription. Why?
You must click the Already Purchased button on the trial reminder screen. If your trial is still active, you will see the trial reminder screen upon exit of the application. If your trial has expired, the reminder screen will appear on application launch. Once you have clicked the Already Purchased, button, select the "Enter Serial Number" button and enter your serial number.

Can I go from a Standard or Premium Membership to a Subscription?
No. In fact, there is no need, since having a Membership means that you already own a copy of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite. If you have a Standard Membership and wish to have full access to Premium features and content, than you should upgrade to a Premium Membership.

I have CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 installed on more than one system, and I am seeing different membership or subscription messaging in each. Why?
If you have installed CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 on multiple systems, and the same serial number and user sign-in credentials have been used on each of these systems, ensure that the most recent software update is applied to each of these systems, for a consistent product experience.

Is my credit card information kept securely?
Yes! Your credit card information is kept very secure, and for added security, is only associated with an order (e.g. Membership transaction) and not tied to you (as an individual).

How do I access my corel.com account?
You can sign in to your corel.com account by going to www.corel.com, and then clicking Sign In at the top of the page and following the instructions.

How do I turn off auto-renewal for my Membership or Subscription?

After installing the 32 bit version of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6, and then purchasing a subscription, I installed the 64-bit version and my product is de-featured. Why?
If this occurs, on launch, select the Already Purchased option and make sure you connect online. Your subscription will be restored

Its slow doing everything. Slow to process things in an art project.
As work gets more complicated (more elements on the screen) things get worse.
Even zooming in and out while working is slow.
And whenever it doesn't like a certain process, it just shuts down Corel.
I have run Corel repair system, and even reinstalled Corel just to be sure the software is okay.

- When serious errors occur in Coreldraw, the program goes into a perpetual processing mode
as if its trying to complete a process, but never does. You have to 'end task' the program.
I've never seen anything out of the ordinary when I open Task Manager.

Either 'the program is not responding' or no comment, as if the program is still operating normally (however its in some state of freeze).
OR
it just shuts down, disappears from the screen and you are staring at your desktop.
Then you hope, when you restart Corel, that a temporary saved backup exists and is offered to you.

My issues are just slow and jerky operation, and as on-screen artwork gets more complicated, the software
gets slower, jerkier, glitchier...as I move my view around my project, it seems to have trouble rendering.
Momentary black areas appear before th artwork renders again. Zoom in or out and it freezes momentarily,
or jumps jerkily in or out.

- Event Viewer...I am not really sure of where to look or what to look at, but I went through some Error lists
and I can't find CoreDRW mentioned anywhere. There appears to be thousands of errors logged, reported, etc.
Mostly system things, it seems.

- Nothing is overheating...in fact I have been monitoring temps since i got the new board and cpu...
and because of new fan controllers, I was curious as to what temps the main fans ramped up or down,
and when the GPU fans kicked in.
I also have a low end cooler on the CPU for the time being, so I want to monitor the CPU temp.
I'm happy that it is staying below nominal during various gaming and other things.
