Widelyconsidered the minimum standard for dog trainers, I have been a certified trainer through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) for over ten years. This certification requires passing a comprehensive exam and continuing education.

Separation Anxiety is one of the most challenging issues to work with. Working with Malena DeMartini, one of the foremost experts on separation anxiety, has uniquely prepared me to help clients and their dogs find relief.

I share my home with a giant and lovable Saint Bernard named Fezzik. His sweet personality and boundless enthusiasm helps to always put a smile on my face and start a conversation with everyone who meets him.

Each of my previous dogs, Bruce, Lanie, Sadie, and Bennie, took a piece of my heart but taught me so much in return. Learning to deal with adolescent angst, concerning aggression, and the effect of health and aging on dogs and their behavior helps my clients each and every day.

Last week I got to photograph one of my favorite restaurant types a hot dog stand. I know what you are thinking there is not much visually interesting about a hot dog stand. This is where you would be wrong. I like to keep my food photography as simple as possible. This shoot was absolutely simple. I typically light my food photography and use reflectors and at least strobe. On this shoot, we got the timing and location just right and we were able to use all natural light. Using hard directional light was right for this food photo shoot. We kept it simple the background for these is a simple white napkin. If you like hot dogs keep scrolling to see two more awesome hot dogs! I love hard light food photography.

Eating a hot dog on a hot summer day always reminds me of playing little league when I was growing up. A baseball game was never complete until I went to the concession stand and grabbed a "blue" Power Aid and a hot dog topped with nacho cheese. It also brings back memories of my grandparents and eating hot dogs with them at the kitchen table. Food is about relationships. We form strong bonds around food. Food is about relationships.

Prevention of separation anxiety in dogs during the lockdownIn this blog post, we shall be looking at the subject of separation anxiety in dogs and how to prevent it during the period of the Coronavirus lockdown. Now

Safety With Children and Dogs During the Coronavirus Lockdown Using the R.I.S.E. Safety Method.Respect. Teach your child to respect your dog and its space.Involve. Include your child during dog-based activities such as walking,

A family unit composed of dogs and humans requires a sense of order to keep everyone moving in the right direction in harmony with each other. When correct order is established, life will be a relaxed and enjoyable experience

A catch-all term if ever I've used one! Unruly behaviour however really can range from puppies acting like hooligans, treating the sofa like a trampoline, to your dog grabbing at your child's slippers or nightie as they enter the

If you have an upcoming shoot with me and your dog(s), definitely make sure to reach out to For The Love of Paws! Especially if you have more than one dog, it is so important to have an extra set of hands per dog you have. This way we can take great portraits of just your dog(s) and of course, you with your dogs too. This will help make your session way less stressful while also achieving all of your photo dreams!

Nick & Perry (also known as Les Marchien) is an animated television series created by Udo Beissel for Cartoon Network. It is about two alien dogs, Nick and Perry, who crash land on Earth and try to blend in with normal dogs, while hiding their alien secret from the people. The series stars Rolf Berg and Daniel Werner as the titular characters, Nick and Perry. The program originally ran from 2000 to 2001, broadcasting 52 episodes over two seasons.

Nick and Perry, the title characters of the series, are two alien dogs, who crash-landed from their planet Dogmas, to planet Earth. They have to disguise themselves as regular dogs, to prevent their secret from coming out, or else they will be sold to science. Perry and Nick study Earth culture throughout the series while also trying to find a way home, with Perry interested in the functions and workings of Earth culture, and Nick looking at the bright side of things.

* As a helper and a coach at seminars in different parts of the world, what do you feel is the most common mistake most handlers make with their dogs? And what do you see as a common strong point that you like? What do you look for from the handlers when you work their dogs?

* Like most of us in the sport, you also have a job. Describe your typical week with training. Tracking Obedience Protection. How do you fit in everything in your life and your schedule? Do you do any special conditioning in addition?

Training on a treadmill has so many advantages! It is the most safe way to train your dog because there is no chance for injuries like running into glass or getting under the bike or getting attacked by another dog or..

The first goal we have is to develop treadmills that are safe for dogs and also have the right size for the dog and to provide veterinarians, physical therapists and trainers a treadmill that fulfills their needs.

Because of the possibilities the DogRunner treadmills are offering, and their quality, they are very popular with professionals and we even have several universities for veterinary medicine as customers!

I am sure handlers can prevent many injuries on their dogs by training them to exercise in a correct way!!! The condition of the dog will get better, the dog will get more muscles and this will protect him better from injuries during training and trials!

My journey begins on November 11th, 2004. While getting ready to either go out on a mission or go to gate one where I was assigned as part of my duties as base security, my life was changed forever by a 107mm Chinese Rocket. I was a Marine serving in Mahmudiyah Iraq when I was hit. I sustained five different injuries from the back part of my right leg getting ripped off, to shrapnel chipping a bone in my lower back, taking the shell casing in my right shoulder, taking more shrapnel in my upper left arm, and in the midst of getting spun around I ripped off the back side of my left hand along with four of my wrist bones and a bone in my hand. I also live with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

On August 2012, I attended the Chicago Air and Water Show courtesy of Wounded Warrior Project. I met other Veterans who had service dogs and talking with them I begin to get a glimpse of what life might be like if I had one. When I got back home I talked to my wife, my therapist and psychologist at the Veterans Administration Hospital, and did a lot of research online about service dogs and service dog organizations. We finally decided on the Indiana Canine Assistant Network, or ICAN. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.

I submitted my application with trepidation and no expectations because I thought there was not much a dog could do for me. My thought process was if it worked out, then great, but if not, then all I did was waste some time. When Ann from ICAN showed up at the house and asked me what are my needs and wish list and we began going through things I would need she said, OK we can do that. This was the first time I got a glimpse and hope that I may just get my new normal back.

Then we enter team training where we spend two weeks in the prison with the handlers learning all the commands and tweaking what specifically our individual needs are. Due to a previous family trip to Alaska to see our son who was stationed there, we missed the first week so I thought we would be behind the curve ball when we started. Festus and I were destined to be with each other. When we went to the mall to do our pre public access test, Festus was already checking doorways as we walked after only being together for three days! Also, when Festus and I began working on walking up and down stairs, it was like I was never injured.

Our accredited service dog training and Indiana placement program provides safety, friendship, and independence for children, veterans, and adults with disabilities and veterans with service-related trauma specific to PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and military sexual trauma.

ICAN further encourages reporting of all perceived incidents of discrimination or harassment. It is the policy of ICAN to promptly and thoroughly investigate such reports. ICAN prohibits retaliation against any individual who reports discrimination or harassment or who participates in an investigation of such reports.

Nick's opened on April 1st, 2010 in the heart of Davidson County, North Carolina. Named after Ralph and Amy's son Nick, it was sold in 2020 to Jeremy and Casey Haynes, lifelong residents of the North Davidson area.

Jeremy prides himself in continuing on the tradition of Nick's, by:

Using fresh, never-frozen local meats, handrolled each day

Daily cut vegetables and in-house made chili, ranch and thousand island dressings

Cooking each order as they are ordered. Nothing is pre-made!

Hand breading massive pork chops and using all beef gourmet hot dogs

We also believe strongly in giving back to the community which supports us and we source our vegetables, meats and more within the local area.
