The film details the deteriorating state of an impoverished Gary neighborhood terrorized by a street gang called the Rebels. When the gang murders a local boy, it prompts the emergence of several individuals who grew up in the neighborhood: the original members of the Rebels.[5][6]
The attack on Marvin's life prompts his son, pro football coach and ex-Rebel John Bookman, to return to the impoverished Gary neighborhood to find Bobby the shooter. After seeing his father, John goes to save his father's shop and kicked all the Rebels fellows out of there. Then he goes to a local barbershop, where Kayo eventually turns up. Trouble immediately brews, and John and the gang members fight. John has the upper hand but is overpowered. Jake Trevor, another original Rebel, enters the fray and saves John. After the fight, the two converse, and it is revealed that Jake is here to bury his illegitimate son, Kenny Thompson. Jake goes to visit "Slick", who reveals to Jake that his son was killed because he hustled the Rebels. Jake is astounded and enraged that his son was killed over money.
After a boy was murdered by gang for winning a street basketball game, the original members of the Rebels come back to clean up the neighborhood. Starring Fred Williamson, Jim Brown, Pam Grier, and Christopher B. Duncan.

And just like The Expendables, the main draw is the cast and not necessarily the story or the action. The cast is awesome though - Pam Grier, Fred Williamson, Jim Brown, Paul Winfield, Richard Roundtree, Ron O'Neal, Robert Forster, Wings Hauser - and easily makes this worth a watch.
Underwhelming to watch this on the tails of Three the Hard Way and I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!, the bigger & better Blaxploitation ensembles. It's always cool to see these heroes hanging together outside of a fan convention, but Original Gangstas lacks the fun, funk, and action of their original films. Also, what a wasted opportunity of casting Wings Hauser and not having him play a villain, or even go a little crazy.
You support the theory that he was killed by Orlando Anderson, but what about the idea that it was Puff Daddy who paid him to do it?
I would be careful about that because, as for Puffy's involvement, it's basically his word against the word of Keffe D, who was Orlando Anderson's uncle. [He] said that Puffy offered them a million dollars to kill Tupac, and Suge and said he was in the car when Orlando Anderson killed Tupac. But again, that's Keffe D's word against Puffy, and Keffe D was also bargaining to stay out of prison, so that's why he was cooperating [with the police]. He changed his story, too; he didn't originally say that Puffy had anything to do with it.
While other publications and movies portray Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Eazy-E as simple, one-dimensional characters, Westhoff is able to shed light on every aspect of these individuals. The book highlights something that many forget when looking back on this era: These self-proclaimed "gangstas" were just kids when all of this started. Many of them were teens still living with their parents. Faced with explosive fame and fortune, they did what many stars still do to this day: They made mistakes.
Hip hop has always been among the most nostalgic of musics, forever obsessed with the old school. But rather than longing for the hyper-kinetic Bronx vibe of Afrika Bambaattaa or Grandmaster Flash, many of the stars on "This or That" seem to want to go back to the days of original gangstas NWA (Eminem even raps "My attitude is worse than NWA's was"). It can't be an accident that, with women dominating rap like never before -- Missy Elliott succeeding Hill as the hip-hop poster-girl of the moment -- "This or That" features only one female. And Eminem, on a cut up version of "Get You Mad" featured here, goes out of his way to dis the young queens of urban radio: "All three of my main girls said see ya/'Cause Brandi and Monica walked in and caught me fucking Aaliyah."
