We are looking to purchase a CT2500 Camper Trolley to move our tandem 18' van. They are fairly pricey, happy to pay if they are as good as claimed. Interested in any feedback that users may be able to offer, particularly if it works well on grass.

In total frustration, I sold the trolley, sold the camper and bought a motor home. I'm now negotiating the purchase of a small off road van and I'll get the Optitec caravan mover. Not only is it an Aussie product but the inventor/manufacturer is an easy bloke to talk to and gave me honest answers. Plus the Optitec is less than half the price.

Hey Maxy I purchased the CT2500 at the Batemans Bay camping show October Last year. We have a 23' Royal Flair 2490kg UNLADEN was informed that it would move a little more than 2500kg How I would rate it:

4) Warranty........ Ours packed it in after moving the van about 1/2 doz times one of the tracks would not move sounded as is it slipped a gear. Anyway rang the dealer and they organised pick up and repair at no cost to me so happy with the service.

5) If I was to purchase again I would like a demo at my place, where I intended using it,not some controlled camping show that is pushing around a van that is not similar in size and weight to mine ( I know my problem but I did ask a lot of Questions before purchase) like you said $3800 is a lot of $$

I am undecided if I will still keep mine as I don't have any problem really in backing the van into its storage area. I thought it might have been more useful for manoeuvring around the house when I need to be doing something rather than hooking up the car all the time.. It does this task quite well but its an expensive bit of gear to have in the shed and to be used only 2/3 times a year.

Thanks Bryan, have just had a look. Yeah the Optitec don't look bad. Need mainly for moving about the yard, and am concerned how the Camper trolley will work on the grass. Think this could be a possibility, and definately a lot better price. cheers for the info

Appreciate the feedback, the grass issue is a bit of a concern, great to get info from someone who has used. They have only offered us a controlled demo on cement driveway in the city not our home town - this being our main concern also as you mentioned. Cheers for the info. The robot trolley will work on a range of different surfaces such as grass, gravel, stones, asphalt and concrete, and features a battery life of approximately 30 minuets. The battery will be fully charged after 2-3 hours.

Hi can anyone help I am thinking of buying the CTA 2500 camper trolleys have never needed a mover before but last time out we went somewhere where it was very tight I have a twin wheel and a range rover so a long unit don't want to put a fixed mover on as we change our caravan othen so was wondering what the trolley was like

Also in France, earlier this year the fellow on the pitch next to us had a twin axle with a fitted mover. He and his wife were having to apply additional effort on the van handles (this was on grass) to force it to try and follow the intended turning action selected with the remote controller. They had to make two or three back and forth shunts to achieve this.

It is CT 2500 . . It needs fixture on the A-frame . . Drilling? . . Would need fairing cutting up . . They tend not to have them on continental vans . . Wouldn't want to carry in the van, but you couldn't put it in the car when hitched up. I'd use twin movers and if necessary swap when changing the van.

(In my experience most problems with motor movers on twin axle caravans is the owners who cannot even tell that they are not working correctly). I think motor movers will do the job well if they are properly installed and maintained. Moving motor movers from one van to the next is simple enough.

When I thought about buying one I had this in mind and I considered that pulling and pushing could damage a grab handle or worse case scenario damage the person that's doing the pulling or pushing, how much would the repair to the caravan be, or how much would it cost being off work for 6 months.

I bought the mover and I'm pleased I did, its got us onto very tight pitches and off again, using it to hook up has saved any risk of damaging the bumper or car and its got us off very wet grass pitches without any damage to the grass.

I think you have made the right choice. I have used drawbar movers in the past and my experience has been that they are not up to the job -- but, of course, the sales literature says differently! You will note that the unit was demonstrated on a perfectly flat concrete surface, how many sites are vlike that?

If the slide mechanism is greased at service there is no struggle. I used to lube mine with motorcycle chain grease spray. Now I have it done as part of the annual service along with spare wheel carrier

Spoje s univerzlne a vhodn pre včšinu prvesov a karavanov. Je však potrebn dať pozor, aby ste nezaťažili mover nad vhu nad ktor je dimenzovan. Pri včšej zťaži je vhodn zvoliť vyššiu radu. Vďaka 30-mintovej vdrži batrie Vm robot pomže k plnej sebestačnosti v rmci manvrovania. Je jednoducho skvel pomocnk!

De RT2500 RS is een goede oplossing voor alle manoeuvreerbehoeften, caravans, aanhangers of boottrailers tot 2500kg.
