A lightweight gel-type calming cream made with Heartleaf and Centella Asiatica to soothe irritated, dry, and dehydrated skin. Its unique light formulation is ideal for layering and a light finishing touch.

As mentioned in my review of the Aqua Boosting Essence Toner and Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule, the aesthetics that are unique to this brand are still there and the product information is printed clearly in both English and Korean.

True to its claims, the cream felt very soothing on my winter battered skin. Moisturizing with this cream gives my skin instant nourishment and a nice cooling effect as well. However I thought this fell a bit short in terms of being a cream fit to battle winter dryness. My skin starts off feeling abundantly moisturized but inner dryness usually kicks in later on in the day. The problem here is it looks fine on the surface but feels incredibly taut and tight as if my skin is just being stretched in all directions.

Oh is this the same as the heartleaf half from their duo cream? I wonder if they will also release a full size similar to the more creamy half too. I loved both in the duo so definitely want to get my hands on this one too.

AXIS-Y is a climate inspired skincare company with products that take into account how our skin is directly affected by our environment, the climate, temperature, humidity and other external stressors, and how we should care for it accordingly.

AXIS-Y have created their 6+1+1 Advanced Formula skincare line (611), for people with oily, acne-prone skin living in humid climates. Each product in the line is carefully formulated with 6 natural ingredients + 1 core functional ingredient + 1 special patented skincare technology, which work together to address a particular skin concern.

How to use:
Use the provided spatula to scoop the desired cream. Apply T-Zone cream for oily areas, U-Zone cream for dry areas, or mix both for areas that need moisture and hydration.

Ceramide U-Zone Cream: Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Isohexadecane, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ceramide NP, Sorbitan Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Microcrystalline Wax, Sorbitol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Candelilla Cera, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Sorghum Bicolor Leaf/Stem Extract, Aspergillus Ferment, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Salicornia Herbacea Extract, Phragmites Communis Extract, Chlorphenesin, Arginine, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Ethylhexylglycerin

The gel type Heartleaf T Zone cream has an instant thirst quenching, refreshing and slight plumping feel on my skin. It has a nice light glide and absorbs well without leaving a greasy residue. However if I use too much it can feel slightly tacky and leave a visible shine especially on my forehead.

This wash-off mask is the most surprising product for me. It smells of a mixture of clay and herbs, with a creamy appearance. It contains adzuki beans, kelp, artichoke, mung bean, heartleaf, lotus and 61% mugwort as its core ingredient. Mugwort has an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effect on the skin.

This toner is clear with a light citrus scent and a watery texture. It has tea tree, centella asiatica, sugarcane, lotus, Houttuynia cordata, narrowleaf hawkweed and salicylic acid 0.5% as its core ingredient which exfoliates the skin, unclogs pores and lessens sebum production.

I like how this serum is in a pump-tube type of packaging. It has a whitish color with a gel-like consistency. It has papaya, squalane, calendula, sea buckthorn, allantoin, Oryza sativa bran and niacinamide for its core ingredient. FYI, niacinamide is one of the best brightening ingredients out there and has a lot of benefits for oily/acne-prone skin like reducing inflammation, minimizing pore appearance and regulating sebum production.

I was uncertain of this product at the start because it seemed more for combination skin types since it has 2 types of product: a gel type for the oily T-zone and a cream type for the dry U-zone of the face. It has sage, centella asiatica, purslane, sorghum, oryza sativa bran, allantoin and has heartleaf as its core ingredient for the T-zone and ceramide for the U-zone. Heartleaf or Houttuynia cordata has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial properties, and can control excess oil production. Ceramides help strengthen the skin barrier and retain moisture.

If you want the TLDR version of my long review, the standouts for me on their own are the Quinoa One Step Balanced Gel Cleanser, Mugwort Pore Clarifying Wash Off Pack and Artechoke Intensive Skin Barrier Ampoule. If you have a really oily skin then the toner and sunscreen will be sure winners. For sensitive skin types, I recommend both the cleanser and ampoule. For acne-prone skin, the mask and the spot serum are very helpful.

In this post I will be reviewing the first 2 products but check back or subscribe to my email mailing list to be notified of my next review post, where I will cover the remaining serum and ampoule. (Little hint: I absolutely ADORE the glow serum which is my favourite of the 4 and have had fantastic results with it!)

AXIS-Y is a Korean skincare brand founded in 2018. Their brand philosophy revolves around climate inspired skincare solutions, meaning they focus on products and ingredients that help deal with environmental stressors to the skin such as air pollution, free radicals, UV radiation, weather/climate changes. I like this approach because yes, the condition of our skin is greatly impacted by what goes on around us in our external environment. I always hesitate to box myself into one skin type because my skin condition does vary greatly depending on my location (humid, dry etc.), temperature and time of year.

I would agree with the product claim that its gentle; it has never broken me out, caused irritation or given me the squeaky clean, overly dry feeling on my skin after washing. It is great for removing light dirt and oil buildup and my skin remains soft and hydrated after use.

I think the more common way to apply (and probably how the product was intended for use is that you apply the t-zone gel cream on the more oily areas of your face (forehead and nose) and then the u-zone cream for the rest of your face which is typically more dry (cheeks, chin, neck etc.)

Alternatively you can opt for the t-zone cream in the morning as its lightweight and works well under makeup and then the u-zone cream in the evening which is when you would typically want/need a heavier cream to lock in the moisture overnight.

The texture for both are very different. The T-Zone cream is very much a lightweight, cooling gel formula. It has a beautiful natural blue colour due to the Guiazulene in the ingredients. It is hydrating which is suitable for oily skin types, but it does leave a sticky finish (which works well as a primer base for your makeup to stick to).

However as I mentioned above, I love using this cream the most when I combine a little of both together and I think this comes down to the fact that my skin type is neither very oily, nor very dry. I would say its leans normal to dehydrated.

The u-zone cream is a nice contrast to the t-zone cream in how much more moisturising it is, but again, not keen on the finish as it can feel slightly heavy. This would suit drier skin types than mine (although if you lean extremely dry and experience cold winters, you would probably need a more occlusive moisturiser), but if you are dehydrated like I am, then packing on lighter layers of hydration is a must before you seal everything with a heavier moisturiser. In my routine I use between 1-3 essences/serums before my cream, so this t-zone cream ends up being too heavy after that.
