I have an ethernet problem - high download speeds and very low upload speeds. Tried changing the cable, and uninstalling, and installing the killer ethernet driver and software multiple times, which initially provided only a temporary fix. Now I get the same low upload speed results even after completing the fresh installation of the new driver. Please help.

Hello Everyone: I discovered that my adapter settings, particularly my off load settings, were causing my slow upload speeds. Disabled, and I am now getting 500/500 Mbps, which is what I am contracted to receive from my fiber optic ISP. Also confirmed the settings recommended by Shaq. Problem resolved.

Currently getting 1mgps upload speed (via 3 different 3rd party testing sites) connected to my ethernet cable. Bypassing my router plugging the same ethernet cable directly into the ONT, I'm getting my expected 850 upload and 850 download. Test the ethernet on a different device and the same issue with slow upload speed.

I have a Netgear 1900 c7000v2 modem/router (installed in April 2019) ethernetted to my PC (new in March 2019). I have the Cox Internet Preferred 250 plan (250 download and 10 upload) and normally get about 280-290 mbps download and 10-11 mbps upload. Only Cox can update the firmware, current version is 1.03.01. Recently, I noticed I am only getting 0.6 mbps on the upload. I have reset the modem, changed the port and cable, checked for updates, etc. I have good channel locking on 24 of 24 download channels and 4 of 8 upload channels. I switched to wifi and got 230 on the download and 10.8 on the upload, ie pretty normal for wifi with the other PCs/Laptops in the house that operate on wifi. So, what is wrong? Any idea if I have a mechanical problem with the modem/router, or the PC?

I hooked up another PC to the router and get good speedtests: 289 download and 10.87 upload, which is what is expected It would seem that indicates the router-modem is good, and I assume the card or driver in the PC would be the problem causing slow upload speeds with ethernet.

I have a RPi3B connected via ethernet to a GbE Switch that also connects to my main PC. This PC gets 210/105 Mbps since it has a GbE port. I know that 3B only has a 10/100 ethernet port, but I'm getting very low donwload speeds, while the upload seems fine. I've run like 20 tests via speedtest-cli and the download speed ranges from 5 Mbps to 55Mbps (very very unstable measurements, mostly at 15-25Mbps), while the upload always ranges from 93-94Mbps. Any idea why?

I had the same issue with my ethernet. I checked the download speed on the Windows platform, it was showing around 1 Gbps. Then I checked on Ubuntu, and it was 6 Mbps, and the upload speed was around 500 Mbps.Trying so many solutions and not getting resolved was frustrating. Then I updated my Linux kernel from 5.0.0.32 to 5.4.0.70. Now it is working fine and the downloading speed is same as Windows.

So, how slow is too slow when it comes to upload speeds? Unfortunately, there is no straightforward answer. It depends on the number of devices connected to the internet, what you use it for, and the type of internet.

Another reason why your internet upload speed is too slow might be viruses and other malware installed on your computer, router, or modem. It is getting increasingly hard to detect malware; spotty internet is just one of the many symptoms.

Whenever I used my laptop or phone, the Wi-Fi connection felt incrediblyslow. Youtube videos took forever to load, Google Maps tiles filled in slowly, and even gmail felt unresponsive. On the other hand, my desktop, which wasconnected to the router via an ethernet cable, worked just fine.

now im really happy with the service i have gotten so far from vodafone as a whole but more recently ive been having more problems with my connection both in constant disconnects (5-10 disconnects a day requiring the mobile dongle for internet) and also random speed slowdowns. not most of the time my download is pretty much max at 930-940mbps, but when it comes to upload speed im getting avg 70-140mbps on my ethernet connection yet 290-330mbps on my mobile phone which sounds weird to me.

i used to get 930mbps upload around the 11th of june and the upload speed has been constantly going downwards, now i know their is no guarantee on upload speeds i just want someone to hopefully try and explain why this might be happening. why is my mobile phone e.g(Samsung A71 which has a top wifi speed of 488mbps) getting a fast upload speed? around 380mbps but with my ethernet which is 1gb connecting on my motherboard only uploading at around 130-140mbps, these speeds are reported 5mins apart doing the same thing, www.speedterst.net and also uploading vids to servers which say they can handle lots of ppl uploading at the same time. ive also recently upgraded my motherboard which has wifi 6 built in, and guess what, upload is still around 120-130mbps using the same speedtest servers, and vid upload servers.

any1 point me in the right direction?, any1 know? i even had a friend lend me a wifi router Asus TUF Gaming AX-5400 which didnt improve my problem or slower upload from my computer than my mobile phone?

this may or may not help any1 else as every situation is different for all ppl. you dont need to be a tech nerd or anything but from what ive found with my situation is that MSI, Asus and other motherboard manufacturers when it comes to so called Gaming Motherboards seem to like to include QOS in some of there software, i say this because of my problem, MSI Dragon Center for my MSI 6700xt automaticaly installs LanManager(which includes cfosspeed) which in turn tries to min/max your ethernet connection of your computer to help with low pings for gaming and such, in the process it tries to spread/share your download/upload speeds with all the other devices you use at home. so that none of my devices connected will have buffering or gaming issues. this sounds great but as i only really use one PC for d/l and u/l im greedy and want all the bandwidth for myself:)

The other program i have found that limited my download/upload speed was Asus armorcrate software, Asus did a better job and actualy lets you choose what you want to install unlike MSI dragon Center. what software that asus provide is called GameFirst V and Overwolf, ive never used overwolf before ever so that may not be it, but it is def GameFirst V, again this is a program that is supposed to help with gettin Lower Pings for gaming, and also supposed to improve over all speeds for your ethernet connection.

Since i have chosen to do a reformat and fresh install of windows 10 i have not installed any of these programs above and i am gettin my full 930mbps download and 945mbps upload through my ethernet cable. when it comes to mobile devices i suggest ppl do proper research on their devices as on my Samsung A71 which says its 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac but no matter what router i use, i only get a MAX d/l of 280-290mbps and 320mbps upload speed. so ppl with laptops and other devices using wifi should check the specs.

i have a MSI 6700x in my computer so went to install MSI Dragon centre which in turn installs a program/addon called Lan Manager which caused my upload speed to reduce to 150mbps. lan manager installs whats called cfosspeed"not sure which one is over-ridding my internet upload speed, its like malware cause even after uninstalling them both i still get slow upload speed, so off to reinstall windows yet again without MSI software
