Sounds like you're trying to use the basic map that comes with BaseCamp and not the detailed CN map that is installed on your device. You need to learn how to use BaseCamp correctly, this tutorial may help you -basecamp/

I'm using a PC but still Basecamp crashes when I connect my Zumo XT. Express boxes are unchecked. I have restarted everything numerous times. I've reinstalled basecamp and Express twice. The only way to get maps is to copy and paste into the GPX folder of the XT, but even then some routes won't load. I'm going on a cross country trip in May and I need this fixed. Maybe I should try it on my wifes newer PC Laptop. Any other ideas?

I have found that my version of garmin express was out of date, so that is now updated. I have deleted the watch from my profile and reconnected it. I have even deleted basecamp and reinstalled (however the maps can't have been removed from the cach as they instantly appeared when I reinstalled BC)

thanks verry much my mistake thanks just bought garmin gps 66s used for years etrex 10 basic still got lots off problems too get gpx files too my topogbpro map on base camp not so easy gpx transfer and see it working but thanks again

If you do not like the appearance of your Garmin or the Freitzeitkarten-OSM maps than you can modify/change the TYP-file associated with the map. For this you should have a look at two important tools: JaVaWa GMTK which allows you to associate a different TYP-File with a map and TYPWiz 6 which allows you to edit an existing TYP-File. At least for me this has opened and whole new world in customizing BaseCamp and make it more useful for my needs.
This is also explained here: -osm.de/garmin/en/design.html There you can find some alternate designs.

Thank you for your response. I try many times with your method and other ones. But, I failed every time. What I want to do is drawing a track on any kind of the map layer online with using a public computer. When I go home after, I can export the online track data to a GPX file. Then,I can import the GPX file to GARMIN basecamp to view and edit. Can ArcGIS online do that? If it can, please tell me how to do? Thank you very much again.
