With the stroke of a pen the cost of some health care services could increase by 7%. It may sound like a nightmare, but it could be a reality. Legislation to add sales tax to certain types of healthcare services provided by physicians is currently being considered by the Pennsylvania General Assembly. Many services used by patients would be subject to this sales tax, increasing the already high cost of health care and potentially limiting access to care due to affordability. The Pennsylvania Medical Political Action Committee (PAMPAC) is the grassroots muscle to oppose legislation—like this tax on patients and physicians—at the ballot box. Would you consider contributing $50, $100 or $200 to PAMPAC to elect candidates who understand that a tax on physicians and patients will only add to the high cost of health care? PAMPAC is your voice to help stop the expansion of the sales tax to include certain types of health care services.
