TOS Members, We have received a request from the Rotman Research Institute at the University of Toronto to study your brains! Here is the message: I'm a researcher at the University of Toronto who studies how the brain changes as we learn about the natural world. We are currently running a short 15-minute online study focused on bird identification. The study is open to birders of all experience levels, and I thought some members of the Texas Ornithological Society may be interested.
There are links to media articles about our research (in Audubon Magazine, National Geographic, etc.) as well as past publications and recent news on our website, www.birdingstudies.com. I’m happy to provide further details--many thanks. This is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the beneficial effects of birding - something we know already! If you leave your email address at the end, you might also win one of four pairs of binoculars being raffled. A laptop or desktop computer is required for functionality, and the test takes about 15 minutes. I'm sure you will find it interesting, as I did. Judy Kestner TOS Membership Services |
