Thank you to the leaders and participants! We saw lots of birds in trees and identified some of them. It was so nice to be back on the trails again after the rain and the cold. Most of my pictures are dim and blurry, but I took lots of the Golden-crowned Kinglet. It was really showing the yellow on the head, sometimes a wide stripe. I have trouble getting photos of that little bird because it moves so fast, but I took lots of the one this morning. These are the best. Don't laugh when you see them. I usually get the underneath of the bird with just the hint of a mustache or maybe a blurred tiny yellow strip on the head. Today I had many photos with just a part of the bird but sometimes it came out into the open. It was almost like it was playing hide and seek.

I'm taking a friend out Monday morning trying for her lifer Piliated WP. I was going to try walking around at Jesse Jones. Do y'all have a better suggestion?

Hi, Bear Creek park is a pretty good bet when it’s not flooded but after last night it probably will be for a few days.

Thanks Dan. What part of Bear Creek do you recommend? I'm not too familiar with the area...

We got to the creek from the Cypress Loop Boardwalk, then walked East along the creek.  This one was perching atop a snag across the creek.  Last month we heard quite a few, and saw two..
