Color substitutions?

So, I'm confused about the color subbing. How come Carinda and Joan and I
all got to keep our colors one game (and let me tell you, differentiating
between Joan and JCFC is hard), while other times the colors are swapped
at the drop of a hat?

Seems like in general, it should be made less sensitive - I'd rather have
some difficulty picking folks out than have it switch all the time.

The method is to compute a "distance"---just the arithmetic
subtraction of the RGB values. It's not a great measure; better would
be some sort of distance on the color wheel or something. The
resolution of conflicts is always correct, rarely optimal. I'm
working on a better solution for the next release.

Also, color-blind people are totally screwed. I'm working on a
solution to that, too.
