Innocent blood has been spilled on the steps of the Council Hall, the sacred stronghold of the Shadowhunters. In the wake of the tragic death of Livia Blackthorn, the Clave teeters on the brink of civil war. One fragment of the Blackthorn family flees to Los Angeles, seeking to discover the source of the disease that is destroying the race of warlocks. Meanwhile, Julian and Emma take desperate measures to put their forbidden love aside and undertake a perilous mission to Faerie to retrieve the Black Volume of the Dead. What they find in the Courts is a secret that may tear the Shadow World asunder and open a dark path into a future they could never have imagined. Caught in a race against time, Emma and Julian must save the world of Shadowhunters before the deadly power of the parabatai curse destroys them and everyone they love.

I started reading the Shadowhunters books back at the tender age of 18 when I was a freshman in college. I was in a terrible living situation with not great roommates, had just moved in with a stranger in an attempt to find some peace, and was not in a thriving social situation. Needless to say, college Cristina was lonely and happened to purchase City of Bones one day from B&N and quickly fell in love with the Nephilim and their world. Now, many years and several series later, I love delving back into the world of the Shadowhunters, but am definitely starting to see the cracks and seams in the stories.

Innocent blood has been spilled on the steps of the Council Hall, the sacred stronghold of the Shadowhunters. In the wake of the tragic death of Livia Blackthorn, the Clave teeters on the brink of civil war. One fragment of the Blackthorn family flees to Los Angeles, seeking to discover the source of the blight that is destroying the race of warlocks.

Cristina, Mark, and Kieran- I was really excited to see where their story was going to end because I am all for poly relationships. Unfortunately, like most of the book, their plot line together felt drawn out and, at times, unnecessarily dramatized. After a while, it started to feel less like they wanted to all be together and more like they were looking for reasons NOT to be together. The reunion between them all at the end felt meh to me and, while I was happy that they ended up together, their plot line felt out-shined by other aspects of the story.

Horace Dearborn- I am really happy that he died and his death was satisfying in a demented way. I will not miss him. I only wish he would have had to suffer more consequences for his actions and bigotry.

Thule Livvy- It was great seeing what she could have been, yet heartbreaking at the same time. I burst into tears when she appeared on the page and seeing her talk about the life she lives in Thule was hard to read. The letter she wrote to Ty had me sobbing and part of me hopes to see her again, but the other part is happy that her story ended where it did.

The Epilogue, Thule Jace, and Ash-
I saved Ash and Thule Jace, or as I like to refer to him: Dark Jace, for the end because they really deserve their own section. The Epilogue gave me chills and I have no clue how I am supposed to wait until 2021 to find out what happens next.

Their only hope is the Black Volume of the Dead, a spell book of terrible power. Everyone wants it. Only the Blackthorns can find it. Spurred on by a dark bargain with the Seelie Queen, Emma; her best friend, Cristina; and Mark and Julian Blackthorn embark on a journey into the Courts of Faerie, where glittering revels hide bloody danger and no promise can be trusted.

As dangers close in, Julian devises a risky new scheme that depends on the cooperation of an unpredictable enemy. But success may come with a price he and Emma cannot even imagine, one that will have repercussions for everyone and everything they hold dear.

Lord of Shadows is the breaking point in The Dark Artifices in my opinion. This novel focuses a lot on love, friendship and family. Mark, Emma, Cristina, and Julian are drawn to the land of Faerie to save Kieran; whom Mark loves. Julian is coming along because he loves Mark as he is his family, Emma is also coming because she loves Mark as a friend but also because she loves her Parabatai, Julian. And of course, Cristina is coming because she loves Emma as she is her friend, she knows Emma loves Julian and therefore cares for him too, and Cristina loves Mark and loves how much Mark loves Kieran so she chooses to go too. Lord of Shadows is a big MESS of relationships wether romantic, friendly, or family related.

In a world full of battles and death, Shadowhunters have never-imagined moments of pleasure that arise from the most common situations. A world of shadows where pleasure is lived in secret and relationships are always prohibited.

En un mundo lleno de batallas y muerte, los Cazadores de sombra tienen momentos de placer nunca imaginados que parten de las situaciones ms comunes. Un mundo de sombras donde el placer se vive a escondidas y las relaciones siempre estn prohibidas.

Three weeks after the events of Signs & Portents, Ty Blackthorn is feeling the weight of the Clave's decision. Bolstered by his new husband, Ty decides that he needs a distraction, and work on his family's ancestral home might just be the ticket to feeling a bit better. But when Ty and Kit start working on the abandoned, old manor house, an ancient evil is awoken, and dark family secrets come to light.

Just like James and Lucie have their own gifts due to their mother's blood, just like their sister. Jame's twin sees visions of the future and the past each time she touches someone and she attemts to pull Matthew far from his demons and help him open up to her, as she realises she is in love with her brother's parabatai. But what happens when a vision shows her very own death?

He didn't notice Jace's cheerful tone, his smile or Simon's laugh. He stood up as fast as if the chair had burned him, backed away and covered his face with his hands. That was all he could think of: He couldn't get hit in the face because people would see it.

When Ty realises that the invention of the fire-message isn't documented in any of the codexes, he makes it his mission to find out why. Unfortunately, that research will take him to back to people and places he left behind - including a certain Herondale...

Nearly a decade ago, six children were stolen from the Shadowhunters as retribution for a crime the Clave no longer remembers. Seven years later, Emma Carstairs has escaped the Seelie Court and made a name for herself as a ring-brawler in the outskirt kingdoms, kicking people in the face to make money to keep herself from the threat of enslavement. Meanwhile, Julian's earned the title of the Seelie Queen's shadow-hound, working alongside Celithe to make sure nobody crosses their Lady or threatens her iron hold over Annwyn. Both dream of finding their scattered siblings, but their image of that future is wildly different . . . and then the two find themselves meeting again when Julian is retired, Emma is hired by a petty Fomorian lord in alliance with the Queen of the Fir Bolg, and Dru disappears from the Seelie Court just like everyone else has. Nobody's escaping this unscathed, I'll tell you that for free.

I deeply hated the name change of the ninth Ghost of the Shadow Market story, so here's my own version. This story will contain spoilers of The Dark Artifices, Ghost of the Shadow Market & Secrets of Blackthorn Hall.
HEAVY SPOILERS!! contains information about what was mentioned, be careful!

Jem Carstairs lived a long, turbulent but fulfilling life. Now, as the final curtain falls over him, like the long shadows of the bedroom he shares with his wife Tessa, he is reunited with his Parabatai once more.
A sort of Parallell to the Epilogue of Clockwork Princess
