Hi all,

I'm a Lafayette resident and grad student at UL. I was excited to see FiberCorps selected for GSOC this year. Congratulations! I think it would be great to work with FiberCorps for GSOC, since I would be able to actually use the fiber network in question as well as participate in AOS group meetings.

I'd like to put together a proposal to work on the levee monitoring idea, but I'm having trouble finding information on the sensors in place on the levees. Is this data publicly available on the web? Is so, where? If not, I'd like to know what the data consists of before I write the proposal.

I'll be getting more information on what's in place later this week &
will update this thread, as well as our site, as soon as I've got it.
Until then, I'd focus on system features & design. I don't expect the
actual data to affect the design to any great extent.

Hi Crawford,

Maybe I've misunderstood the intent of this idea. Are you looking for a front-end to an existing anomaly detection system for these particular sensors? Or are you looking for someone to also write both the anomaly detection back-end and the front-end?

Thanks,

Sara

I'll have more information for you tomorrow, but I think the goal is
to focus on the back-end solution.
