This is the second of three threads I'm creating to cover different
aspects of the AppSquad as lead-ins to our meetup on Monday.

What kind of events would you like to see AppSquad host? Are there any
special speakers you'd like to hear from?

I'll start it off.

As far as my schedule is concerned I am already trying to make room for events that I am unable to attend. (every month I swear I am going to make it to the open source meeting)  Maybe this could be an umbrella organization that frames everything that is already going on filling in the gaps when appropriate.  If anything is lacking its probably free time (for the organizers of each group) to spend planning each event that is already taking place.  Everyone is doing a great job but I am sure there are times when they are struggle because of other commitments.

From what I can tell by the present level of participation across the board we are a very small group of techies.  That also means it won't take much to double or triple the size.

Nothing real will happen without corporate sponsors stepping up.  Abacus Data Exchange continues to impress me with their sponsorship of Net2Lft.

That's sort of the AppSquad plan is to serve as an umbrella for all
the groups in the community. Ideally, the site for the group would
have a community calendar to ease the pain of scheduling for planners
& attendees.

It's also been suggested that some AppSquad meetups could also serve
as that month's meetup for all of the different groups. I'm not sure
how well that would work or how well-received it'd be, though.
