Hi All,
Following is a list of mention of Microsoft/Windows/Turbo in the
syllabus for various courses run by Pune university. We need to take
this up this issue and mount pressure for changing the syllabus
towards FLOSS. In some places they mention Windows/Linux both, but I
think even that needs to be challenged as Linux s/w is free and gratis
while they've to pay for MS.

       I will suggest following thing to make a great efforts,
1) Update the following content here  - http://fosscomm.in/SyllabusReview
2)Join FOSSCOMM mailing list - http://lists.fosscom.in/listinfo.cgi/network-fosscom.in
3) Please format a letter to University with following point
  a) Emphasis on teaching concept rather then proprietary  product
  b) Emphasis on saving money using various available foss tool
  c) Emphasis on adapting open standard for digital industry (like .odt files instead of .doc)
  d) Emphasis on foss software in which student can directly contribute and learn.
4) Please share letter on mailing list.

I hope Team at LFSI can do it.
Thanks and cheers again for good effort to change the syllabus.

PS:May be you can protest on use of proprietary tool.
