Looking for a super easy apple recipe? This is my version of the viral TikTok upside down caramelised apple tart recipe! Mine has one super easy component that takes 1 minute to make but elevates it so that it tastes like you bought it from a bakery. If you love apple tarts this is a pushy recipe Dear Reader!
Some of my favourite recipes have come from TikTok because they tick the box for easy and tasty (complicated just doesn't really work on TikTok). The original recipe by Lily Ghodrati for caramelised upside down tarts was simple and had honey, sliced fruit and some puff pastry on top. A lot of people on TikTok are on the start of their cooking journey and while it was nice but I wanted something a bit more that might elevate it to something that you would buy at a bakery. I decided to add a bit almond frangipane that takes 1 minute to make and it totally made them pop!
Why upside down the apple tart? This way the pastry is super crispy and stays that way. The tarts ends up beautifully caramelised. It's like a tarte tatin but super simple in a single serve size. I tried making these tarts with baking the pastry on the bottom and I could add more frangipane but the caramelisation wasn't as pronounced and the apples weren't as soft.
Step 3 - Using a 12cm/4.7inch diameter round cutter cut out rounds of puff pastry. Place on top of the mound of apples and press down the sides gently. I also cut a little "stem" for the apple and attached it to the pastry. Brush with eggwash and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven, rest for 2 minutes then gently turn the tarts over. Add another teaspoon of honey on top and return to the oven apple side up for 5 minutes. Dust with icing sugar and serve with ice cream.
Step 5: Seal upside-down tarts. Once all of the upside-down puff pastry squares are assembled, gently press down on the edges of each one with a fork to seal and crimp them. Brush the top of each tart with a thin layer of egg wash.
Nestle 3 or 4 pieces of asparagus on the cheese piles. Dab the asparagus with a small amount of Dijon, to taste. I used about a half teaspoon for each pastry. Top with another pinch of mozzarella. Cover each of the asparagus heaps with a rectangle of puff pastry and press the pastry down and around the toppings. Brush the tops with egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the puff pastry is fully puffed, nicely browned, and any cheese peeking out is dark brown. Let them cool for a couple minutes, and flip them over with a spatula.

Testing to see if TikTok is down, we could open the app on an iPhone, but things started to go wrong from there. The algorithm is showing stale content or random videos that wouldn't normally be served to our account. Others say they are now experiencing the same thing. @Bench_Samuel @GalaktixGG lol the problem with tiktok is that it's foreign owned not that the data is being sold. Facebook has been selling it's users data, you sign a contract saying that they can sell your data. you do with tiktok too but foreigners don't have the right to do business in the US.

@davidsolomon338 @AirtelNigeria My airtel sim data bundle doesn't work on the Spotify or tiktok..I can't even open them anytime I use my airtel sim card... It Keeps showing no network. Whereas other mobile apps are working with the data..This is my number..Please fix the problem
