I was surprised by how different the app looked when I followed the emailed instructions to install it and activate the license. I noticed the app I had just installed had a new icon, a snazzy new interface, and a music player - I figured I had neglected updating the app before or had unlocked some paid user feature. Unfortunately, the equalizer in the Poweramp app wasn't having an effect anything except its own music player. I recalled having to use the "Known Players" menu and ADBing in to activate the DUMP permission when using the free version before, and I repeated the ADB process again just in case, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out where that "Known Players" setting was.
So, my question is, why are there two apps? I love the music player feature, but I also want the equalizer in the app to be system-wide. I am still mightily confused by the fact that the Poweramp app seems to have all the bells and whistles, plus more, of the Equalizer app, but the "Known Players" menu is absent. I don't understand why the app isn't unified, and indeed the non-equalizer (but yet also has an equalizer, much to my confusion) is only 3MB larger than the Equalizer one.
Poweramp is a long-established Android Music Player which has been available for 12+ years and has had constant updates (including v1 => v2 => v3) over the years. One of its popular features was a rather powerful equalizer module, for which there had been multiple requests over the years to be made available as a stand-alone product so it could also be used to balance the sound from other Android audio applications.
Thank you Andre this clears everything up! So the Known Players option isn't availble in the music player app Poweramp as that's a new feature with the new equalizer app. I'm not sure if I could have used the license on the original app as I had to purchase it through the website due to a lack if Google services.
Sound Forge Pro (Magix or SCS) has about five (or more) EQs included.. Graphic, Paragraphic, Parametric, ect., ect. The are literally hundreds of others for free or otherwise. Everyone has their personal favorites. My 'newest' current favorite is a free wide band "7Q" equalizer, the 1.5 octave 7Q was inspired by the Kjaerhus Classic... another nice sounding graphic.
I installed the latest version of Peace Equalizer (version 1.4.6.3 ) -equalizer-apo-extension/ and MalwareBytes version 3.4.5 flags it as Ransomware and quarantines the files. I have attached the report. I do believe this is a false positive but please let me know as I have also alerted the software programmer for Peace.

An equalizer is intended to make your aural experience better by providing more options for listening environments, device, genre or general sound curve preferences. A lot of users coming from Windows might be familiar with an equalizer in VLC Media Player or WinAmp, which is where a lot of the presets bundled with the older PA EQ are inspired from. Using a software EQ means you trade off the use of a hardware EQ for CPU cycles, but since most people who use Windows are already familiar with some form of software audio enhancement, that shouldn't be such a big deal except for users of the most anemic of CPUs.
It seems the LADSPA version has new maintainers over at...

So I thought I'd make the old one work without any crazy package holding. In short the reason for package holding above is because the package 'pulseaudio-equalizer' is now in the main Ubuntu repositories - but that is the 'qpaeq' version!
This script takes the webupd8 package and renames it (both in terms of package name and directory structure) to 'pulseaudio-equalizer-ladspa' (which is incidentally what the Arch guys are calling it... -equalizer-ladspa)...
but I sware that when I find an Ubuntu that won't be able to load it, I'll have to remain with the older version. JUST because of this equalizer.
You are the only few users who understand how mighty it is.
I super-goofed and swapped install commands for LADSPA PAEQ. My bad! In newer versions of Ubuntu, if you only did sudo apt install pulseaudio-equalizer it will install the FFT version, which is the one that is so bothersome to even attempt using!
If your hear it closely, this equalizer adds a bad 'static' to the sound acoustic, distorting the original audio. It does not provide a quality overall output, it is very poor.
It's useful if you wanna play around with the ambient effects, but it's the same as using a cheap set of speakers.
NOVA is a parallel dynamic equalizer. Appearing in the familiar layout of a parametric equalizer, each band also includes a full featured dynamics section allowing the processor to cover an impressively wide range of applications. Be it a master lacking density, the drum bus asking for more crispiness, or a sibilance problem in your perfect take: NOVA has an elegant answer.
I've got the Virtuoso SE, on firmware 5.3.70 and dongle 5.7.115. Just updated to 4.22.203 on Windows 11 Insider Preview 22593.1 and same, equalizer won't work anymore. I did a clean install of Icue, a clean install of the drivers, tried eq-ing, tried 7.1 and nada. I don't know what is going on. I think that something broke with the update I just did to Icue because previous to doing it the Equalizer window worked perfectly.
Same with me im using the Corsair void elite pro i just updated icue and then my equalizer stopped working ive been trying to fix it ever since (i just updated today btw restarted about 8 times)im also on windows 10
when i have no effects on my void i go to windows 11 sound settings and then the settings for the void, there i enable the slider for enhanced audio and then the equalizer and surround effects actually work.
An equalizer is probably the tool you use most while mixing and mastering, so you need the best of the best. With FabFilter Pro-Q 3, you get the highest possible sound quality, a very extensive feature set, and a gorgeous, innovative interface with unrivalled ease of use.
This voltage equalizer connect all lithium blades in parallel and making sure all blade voltages are equal and balance. Voltage balance is required if you are mixing new and old Nexcell lithium batteries in the vehicle, fail to do so will result in accelerated degradation or error code.
