Has anyone successfully connected? We were able to locate our
wireless network on the neighborhood page, entered our password and
the icon for our network shows up on the home page, but whenever we
try to load a page from the browse page, we get a message that the
network can't be found. Scrolling over the network bubble on the
home page gives the option to disconnect (which to my mind means we
are connected). Any advice? Also, is anyone interested in getting
together and puzzling through a few features together over coffee/
cocoa some morning?

Jill,

Yes, I have managed to get my XO on the internet.  My network is open and so no password was involved.  Although I admit that there weren't many assurances that I was connected.

John Vittal and I were in Via Lago on Saturday and tried using ours together and we were not totally successful, so don't feel bad.

After we have a little separation from the Holidays I'd be interested in getting together some morning at Peets or Starbucks on Bedford street mid morning when they are not too crowded.

If your access point uses WPA, you will have a hard time, but there
are work-arounds. See:

http://wiki.laptop.org/go/WPA_Manual_Setting

I connect to my WEP only access point without any difficulty.
