I just got mine, finally (ordered on 11/13)!

It came with an impressive lack of documentation. One thing I could
not find in the online docs was the usual warning about fully charging
the battery for a fortnight or two before using. Does this mean I
don't have to do that? I usually do that religiously with rechargeable
batteries, but maybe it's just religion? (I think I have the NIMH,
not the LiFeP variant.)

Jon,

Mine arrived on Jan 3 as well. I had donated 11/12 via PayPal and was
able to track, however slowly via Fedex.

My XO battery arrived almost fully charged and of course cold. I
booted it right up and all's well so far.

I just looked at my battery and it says FE on it so I think it must be
a Li-Fe.

As an experiment, I also booted it up without the battery.

Yesterday, I let it drain to about 5% which took around 3.5 hours.
