Hello everyone,
I have been looking for a database containing words in Portuguese to be used to detect and potentially correct words on the OpenStreetMap dataset and/or on data to be imported into it.
As an example of usage on OpenStreetMap, I have street names to be imported in Brazil. The names have no accents and if I had access to a dictionary I could correct them massively, expediting mappings and saving OSM contributor's time that could be used on other mapping activities.
OpenStreetMap (OSM) is a collaborative project that creates a free, editable map of the world, built by a community of mappers who contribute and maintain geographic data such as roads, trails, cafes, railway stations, and much more, from all around the globe. The data from OpenStreetMap is available under the Open Database License (ODbL), which allows anyone to use, modify, and distribute the data as long as the same rights are preserved in derivative works.
It has been hard to find a dictionary/lexicon or just a list of words under a license that is compatible with OSM's license.
Then I found
http://openlexicon.fr/ which has a good dataset but its license "CC BY-SA 4.0" is also not compatible with ODbL according to this wiki page
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import/ODbL_CompatibilityHow could I request special authorization to use Lexique / OpenLexicon data on OpenStreetMap? Would it be possible to receive express authorization to use it in any language available?
Thank you,
Anderson
