Wisconsin is home to some big BIM players on both sides of the design/
construction fence so this should not be a big surprise. There is no
requirement to pursue delivery methods outside of traditional Design-
Bid-Build but it's a start. On the useful side, they have published
their BIM Guidelines and they are available here:

I'll be digesting these later this week after I recover from LEED
Land...

Actually it seems that Wisconsin is requiring BIM on projects as small
as $2.5 million. Also, I spoke with a friend who runs Revit on the
construction-side of the industry and it turns out that Bill Napier at
the Wisconsin Division of State Facilities is a good friend of his.
Bill was responsible for initiating a standard for Building
Information Modeling required by the state. He reviewed BIM Execution
plans from at least two firms that I believe do a good job of thinking
about how a BIM is made from both sides of the design/construction
fence. The BIM Execution Plan I posted here was the result of many
collaborations with both of those firms so, the Wisconsin BIM
standards are pretty much in line with it. I have been assured that
the standards are preliminary and will be evolving over the next year
or so. I expect these to quickly become a standard for work outside
of the military and GSA (which seem to try to ignore the rest of the
industry and invent their own way of doing things more than they ought
to - which isn't to say they aren't very edgy with respect to BIM.)

Has anyone looked at the Wisconsin Standards yet? I'd like to hear
reactions from people who aren't already familiar with the concept of
BIM Execution Plans. Do you think these standards require too much or
are people realizing how much they are NOT doing BIM yet?
