to Lexington Contra Dancers
There is a dance in Berea each evening for these three nights.

I'll append George's email, in case you are not on his list.

I am thinking about going to the Friday dance. Will be happy to share
a ride.

Tough choice, as I'll have friends playing and singing in Richmond,
while others are playing and dancing in Berea, at the same time.

Thursday, I have other stuff here in Lexington, and Saturday I plan
to go to Somerset.

Best to go a bit early, as the dance is short, and really does
start early. Also, it is a fair walk to the dance hall from the
nearest parking, especially if you are not so sure about where you
are going.

Feel free to post an inquiry about rides for any of the three
evenings.

Ted

From George Oberst in Berea:

This Thursday, 3/29, A street dance hosted by Berea College's
excellent folk dance performance squad, The Country Dancers, in front
of Boone Tavern Hotel in Berea. It will run from 6:30 t0 8:30 and will
feature live music and a swarm of callers, and the dances will be an
eclectic mix of styles including possible circle mixers, Contras and
Squares, some English Country, and chestnuts like the Salty Dog Rag.
The weather forecast looks great, but there is a rain location nearby;
ask at the Boone Tavern front desk.

This Friday and Saturday 3/30 and 3/31 Berea College hosts the 76th
annual Spring Mountain Folk Festival, welcoming school groups of ages
10 to 18. Their evening dances, called by Bob Dalsemer, are held at
the Upper Seabury Gym, and are open to the public at no charge. These
are fun multi-generational dances with a variety of dance styles and
types, not all contra:

Friday, Dance 7:30 - 9:30

Saturday, The 30- minute Gala Processional begins around
7:15, Followed by dancing for all until 9:30.
You can get a campus map at http://www.berea.edu/campusmap/ and find
the big green parking lot near the top. Seabury is the huge building
close by.
