Namaste All,

We have started our prep for Hindu Heritage Play this week and the kids are very excited! The kids who are part of the play will be practicing from 6 PM onwards every week until May 4'th. We will hold curriculum sessions for the other kids as usual.

Please find the notes below for each group and let us know if you have any questions.

A few general notes for all students.
  • Be ready with the books in order to better utilize the class time.
  • Complete any homework assigned in the class in a timely manner.
  • Reach out to your teacher if you have any difficulties with the content or your schedules. 
Slokas

Agasthya
  • Revised Shloka Sheet until Gayathri Mantra
  • Homework: Kids should practice and memorize slokas by listening to the recordings every day.
Vishwamitra
  • Completed test on Shiva Panchakshara Stotram.
  • Revision/learning of Sri Ashtalakshmi Stotram.

Vashista
Kashyapa
  • Revised Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam stotram Dhyanam to 50th Sloka
  • Homework: Kids to do the test for Dhyanam next week.
Yagnavalkya
  • Shivanandalahari till 40
  • Homework: Complex shlokas so should plan a little but of practice as often as possible
Shaunaka
  • Revised Sri Ganesha Pancharatnam - stanzas 1-3
  • Homework: Kids should memorize the stotram learned thus far
Language

Hindi (younger students)
  • Class learnt about animals in Hindi and how to write in Hindi.
  • Revised days of the week
Hindi (older students)
  • Kids wrote words and sentences
  • Learned the "Ugadi" recipe in Hindi and plan to prepare at home
  • Homework : Learn about body parts and next week be able to write about themselves
Sanskritam
  • Past tense and tuple sentences. Please complete the exercises we started
Telugu 
  • Continued with the chapter on cases
Curriculum

Sahyadri / Meru (non-play participating kids)
  • Discussed the Dandi March
  • Transition of Mahatma Gandhi from a rich life to being an ascetic.
Himalaya
  • We read till page 51 of the book on Gandhi and discussed the relatability of the larger than life figures
