I did'nt think about it before since I (still) have no R1.
You need the G2 messages sent both to the editor and to the R1 (for
this you can use your MIDI interface "thru" port)
Then you need both the editor and R1 to send messages back to the G2,
this is generally a software feature
It could also be implemented at the editor level (waiting R1 messages
on a second MIDI port and forwarding them to the G2) then you would
need only a MIDI interface (with at least 2 inputs, 1 thru and 1
outputs), with no extra software.
But I have no R1 for testing (and no more beer) :-)
So for now you must use a sequencer or another piece of software, to
forward MIDI messages from the R1 to the G2, through a MIDI interface
with at least 2 inputs, 1 output and 1 thru.
