Greetings Lex-Ham neighbors!

We are sad to announce Margaret Jones is leaving her position as Executive Director of the Lexington-Hamline Community Council (LHCC). Margaret has contributed heart and soul to this organization. Her passion for community development will be extended to the greater St Paul community with her new position with the 8-80 project. We wish her well.

Currently the LHCC executive committee is receiving applications for a new Executive Director. The position will decrease to half time approximately 24 hours a week; due to loss of funding from the City of St Paul as well as a community partner grant from Valspar (they have reconfigured their gift program).

As we work through these changes we celebrate the strengths in our organization and the current initiatives both supported by board members and our community at large.

Please visit our web site (www.lexham.org) for the executive director job posting, updates regarding our current projects and to stay in touch with what the Lex-Ham council is involved with. A deep thank you to Emmy Treichel, Patricia Eaves, and all who work with them to ensure our seniors are living well at home.  And thanks to Kabby Jones, Anne Parker, Megan O’Keefe and all the neighbors who worked on the Better Bridges event and our traffic circle gardens. Thank you to the members of our environmental committee. Under the leadership of Larissa Kiel, they initiated new practices and we are now using compostable dishes - working toward zero waste events! We are excited to work further to make our neighborhood a cleaner and healthier place to live.

Remember to utilize our Facebook page as a tool to publicize neighborhoods events or neighborhood issues! This is for everyone to use including organizing outings such as attending a Saints Game.

More to come regarding our annual meeting on Monday, October 26th at St. George Greek Orthodox Church!

Jennifer Adam and AnnMarie Fox
