Desnoyer Park Summer Picnic
Join the Desnoyer Park neighborhood for picnic and food drive on Tuesday, July 14th from 6-8 p.m.
It’s sure to be another great summer gathering at the park with burgers by the Blue Door Pub, ice cream by Izzy’s and music by Adam Granger – a regular on Garrison Keillor’s, A Prairie Home Companion.
There’s lots of fun planned for the kiddos: the dunk tank, bubble making, face painting are all back; the climbing wall, bouncy house and a balloon artist will be there this year, too.

Construction Update
The Snelling Avenue bridge over I-94 is still planned to be open by August 22. Most of the sidewalk work south of the bridge is complete! If you have any concerns or questions about the Snelling construction, visit the MnDOT project page, or contact Kevin Walker at 651-234-7509.
Have you heard about Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)? As part of the Snelling project, MnDOT is preparing BRT station sites. Metro Transit will be installing the stations, and the A Line will be running along Snelling starting in 2016. Check out Metro Transit's A Line site for more information!
If you're curious about the Vintage on Selby, you can now visit the model! New tenants should be moving in before the end of 2015, and the Whole Foods will be opening in the Spring of 2016.

This artist rendering shows a view from an apartment looking out onto the Vintage rooftop "backyard."

How can we improve the bridges over I-94?
Today is the last day to give the Better Bridges Project your ideas to help create a community-led vision for the future of the Lexington and Hamline bridges over I-94 in Saint Paul! The online survey also asks for your input on how to celebrate and further enhance the area around the new bike/pedestrian bridge at Griggs Street.
And stay tuned for more information on a Better Bridges event happening in August on Snelling!

Survey participants will be entered into a drawing for one of several $50 gift certificate to local businesses! The survey will be open until June 30.

Knight Green Line Challenge
For the second year in a row, the Knight Green Line Challenge is seeking ideas from innovators to build a more successful Saint Paul. Any individual or organization can submit a project idea. There are just two rules:
- Proposed projects must take place in and benefit at least one of six St. Paul neighborhoods along the Green Line, including Union Park.
- Ideas must tap into the potential of the Green Line to create impact in one or more of these three key areas:
- Exciting current residents and attracting newcomers to the Central Corridor
- Expanding economic opportunity and breaking down divides
- Strengthening a culture of civic engagement
Project ideas of all sizes are welcome and applications are only 400 words. $500,000 is available this year for our bright ideas. Apply today at www.knightgreenlinechallenge.org
