Drum circles facilitate mindfulness and
is a from of moving meditation. A drum circle unites people of all ages through rhythm of
collective consciousness. A drum circle unites people of all ages through rhythm of
collective consciousness. Drum circles have
developed into three main types: "culturally specific", such as Middle
Eastern or West African groups, "facilitated circles" with drums from
any culture, and "anarchic" circles - improvised communal drumming with
no designated musical leader. Bring a drum or
other percussion instrument or just come for the experience. Percussion
instruments include but are not limited to hand drums such as djembes,
bongos, doumbeks, tablas, tambourines, shakers, frogs, sticks, cymbols,
even bells! Instruments are recommended but not required. This is a free
event, donations to the UU are appreciated.
