IMMEDIATELY

Salisbury, MD---The Unitarian Universalist Church hosts a drum circle 6 p.m. Sunday, December 6. This event occurs on the first Sunday of each month. A drum circle unites people of all ages through rhythm of collective consciousness.

Drum circles have developed into three main types: "culturally specific", such as Middle Eastern or West African groups, "facilitated circles" with drums from any culture, and "anarchic" circles - improvised communal drumming with no designated musical leader.

Bring a drum or other percussion instrument or just come for the experience. Percussion instruments include but are not limited to hand drums such as djembes, bongos, doumbeks, tablas, tambourines, shakers, frogs, sticks, cymbols, even bells! Instruments are recommended but not required.

This is a free event, donations to the UU are appreciated. The UU is located at 2812 Old Ocean City Road, Salisbury, Maryland 21804. Join the group to stay connected at http://groups.google.com/group/sbydrummers.
