As I was looking over newly posted YT theremin vids, I noticed that the most recent offering from Sarah Rice seems to show some kind of wrap or support on her right (pitch arm) wrist. Sarah, I hope you are not have problems with your wrist due to theremin playing. Maybe it’s just one of those fashionably extended sleeves…..??

I had wrist problems years ago from the theremin technique I was using and I had to change my entire approach to the instrument. Carpal problems are HELL!

That is preferable to "crapal" tunnel! You can get over a busted wrist but crapal will haunt you forever! A lot of us have had problems with that.

Good theremin technique should not involve wrist movement at all because you can't control it. The wrist should be in a straight line with the forearm so that vibrato is controlled by the biceps and never the deadly "wrist-wiggle", or even worse, "twitchin' fingers".

I broke it. Slipped in cat puke in my hallway, and hydroplaned. Fell and broke my forearm in 2. Not the theremin's fault.

Cast and surgery for 3 months and now ulnar nerve involvement from wrist area still being swollen.

In PT and it gets a fraction better every day. Frustrating. Had to have help from the neighbors to pull up my pants--that was fun. At least I am past that.

But my nails on my right hand are long and beautiful, like buttah.

Sarah

After all our puddies put us through (Oh! The stories I could tellya)  I don’t know why we still love the little beasts! ……..but we do….🐱

My silver tabby, Punky, recently got into a nasty skirmish with a fox but thankfully managed to drag his seriously maimed ass up an apple tree where he remained for two days before we found him! If he had remained there for another day, he would have died in the tree. A thousand dollars in vet bills later, he’s fine and is acting like nuthin’ happened.

It is a very lucky thing foxes cannot climb trees and that you found him in time, poor baby.
