Please play close attention to the conductor's comments about auditoriums. It is a revelation. I particularly was blown away by his comparison of a large auditorium and a very small one, SUCH AS THE INSIDE OF A VIOLIN!
One is familiar with the basic acoustical differences between small rooms and large, but how many have considered the instruments that relied on their built-in auditoriums for the sound qualities that differentiate them between mediocre instruments, and those that have extraordinary sound qualities and command huge prices.
The theremin is without an intrinsic auditorium and relies solely on its electronics and passive filters. And so it becomes essential that the physical room in which it is played is a friendly auditorium adjunct to its inherent sound, or its worst enemy.

Of course, a good (electro-acoustic) amplifier for the theremin has its own "auditorium" (resonance room)
as well. (And a violin body is, of course by itself a mechanical amplifier)

I'm not Martin, but I did succeed in
seeing the movie by using Google Chrome browser with the Hola
Better Internet plugin. (Also good for watching delightful
episodes of the Clangers on BBC I-player.)
