Mike and Andy, greetings:
 What do you guys think the control knob on Doug's Aeolian theremin is used for? That's the one between two of the ceramic trimmer capacitors on the upper chassis.
 I have two guesses:
1. It is a secondary pitch adjustment for re-centering the front panel pitch knob arrow to compensate for pitch drift , or,

2. It is a variable bias voltage adjustment for the UY-224 mixer to alter the sound quality.
 What say you brain trusts?
