Hello there-

As often seems to be the case, after a few quiet months it is now time for a flurry of activity on the Levi Fuller (and the Library) front. Let's tackle them in chronological order:

This Thursday, May 25th, I will be performing a brand new song with the Bushwick Book Club at Annex Theatre as part of an evening of music inspired by the excellent post-apocalyptic novel Station Eleven. I just wrote my song this weekend, and upon finishing realized it was in rhyming couplets of iambic heptameter. Do with that information what you will. The song, while referring to characters and events in the novel, also speaks to our current political situation, which leads me to our next thing . . .

On Sunday, May 28th
, (from 7-10pm on the Vera Project Stage) I will be hosting and performing at a Ball of Wax Songs of Resistance showcase at the wonderful Northwest Folklife Festival. This is a perfect opportunity to catch some of the artists from Ball of Wax Volume 47, whether you missed the release show back in February or just want more. It's also a great chance to buy a copy of BoW 47 in person and have every dollar of your purchase go right to the NW Immigrant Rights Project in support of their essential work. The way I see it, every dollar I can get to them is a nice little "fuck you" to Jeff Sessions.

And last, but far from least, on Saturday, June 3rd, Levi Fuller & the Library will play a loud and rollicking set along with old and new friends to celebrate the release of Ball of Wax Volume 48, which is sung entirely in languages other than English. I don't really speak any other languages well enough to write a song in them, but I can kinda pronounce German, so I used an old Rilke poem as the lyrics for our new song "Der Panther."

So there you have it. I hope to see you at one or more of these events. We don't have anything planned for a while, so it might be another few months until you have another chance to hear me or the Library in person. Have a splendid spring and summer!

Thank you,

Levi
