    Summary

    This position is located in the Analytics and improvements section of the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. The primary purpose of this position is to designs and builds data files, performs major system processing, and generates reports for audit or dissemination of information, performs multifunctional analysts and takes corrective actions on standard reports, manage and coordinate complex assignments independently.

    Responsibilities

    - Design and build data files to create data dashboards in Microsoft Excel, Pyramid Analytics, Tableau, and SQL Report Builder.
    - Analyze dashboard data for trends on a monthly or quarterly basis.
    - Design and implement numerous data reporting systems and dashboards for inputting and displaying data.
    - Apply technical and analytical expertise exploring and examining data from multiple disparate sources to develop report materials, metrics, to inform executive leaders.
    - Manage complex assignments independently in a variety of software packages directly impacting data and reports on which health care management decisions are based.
    - Develops training materials or other tools to assist employees, managers, and leaders in utilizing data.

    Preferred Experience: Experience in VISTA, VSSC, SAIL, Corporate, Regional, and National Data Warehouses, SQL databases, Pyramid Analytics.

    Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

    Qualifications

    To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/24/2019.

    Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.

    You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
    • Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: designing and building data files, performing major system processing, and generates reports for audit or dissemination of information, performs multifunctional analysts and takes corrective actions on standard reports, managing and coordinating complex assignments independently.

    Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. The work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance of meetings and conferences away from the worksite. Occasional carrying of light items.
