Dr. Barbara Bradley Memorial Scholarship

$1,000 scholarships each awarded to continuing juniors or seniors with a secondary education major who have a financial need, to be applied over one semester.

Rosann Petermeyer Memorial Scholarship

$500 scholarship awarded to a continuing sophomore or junior with a secondary education major who has a financial need, to be applied over one semester.

Melvin and Mabel Teuscher Memorial Scholarship

$1,000 scholarships each awarded to continuing sophomores, juniors, or seniors who have a financial need, to be applied over one semester. Priority will be given to education majors.

The State Purchasing and Contracts Office (SPCO) is responsible for managing the State's decentralized purchasing process for state agencies and institutions of higher education in order to ensure the procurement of quality goods and services at best value through fair, open and competitive processes.

The SPCO is made up of the Central Contracts Unit, the State Price Agreements program, and Procurement Programs which includes vendor outreach, communications, training, data administration and project management.

Govt. Intermediate Zila School, Bhagalapur in Bihar was set operational in the year 1823 under the British empire. Since the time of it's inception, the school has continuously proved it's benchmark in the educational sector in a highly cost effective manner. This institution is situated at a strategic location in Bhagalpur and is currently registered under the ambit of Education Department, Govt. of Bihar.

Rangpur Zila School is one of the earliest educational institutions of greater rangpur, established in 1832. It was then known as Rangpur Zamindar School. Some leading zamindar families and Nathanial Smith, the District Collector of Rangpur, took initiative for its establishment. It was inaugurated by Governor General lord william bentinck. It was housed in a large two-storeyed building donated by the Maharaja of Cooch Behar. Zamindar Rajmohan Roy Chowdhury (1787-1847) of Kundi was its founder secretary and Krishna Nath Ray its first headmaster. It was taken over by the government in 1857 as an aided institution and affiliated with the calcutta university.

As a part of the government scheme to establish a Zila School in every district, the school was taken over by the government in 1862 and renamed as Rangpur Zila School. The government then sanctioned an annual grant of Rs 2616 to the school.

During the year 1870-1874, a new land was acquired to extend the school campus and funds were mobilised to construct a new building for it. In 1899, the school had 367 students. By 1914, it was able to build 3 hostels - one each for the Brahmans, scheduled caste Hindus and Muslims. In 1874, the zamindars of the district introduced one silver medal (Dayal Singh Silver Medal) and two scholarships of Rs 8 and Rs 10 per month for meritorious students.

Since 1990, the classes of the school have been running in two shifts, morning and evening with 53 teachers for the two shifts. At present, the school stands on 15.66 acres of land with a big administrative building opened by Sir ashley eden, the then Lt Governor of Bengal (1877-82). Classes of the arts, science and commerce sections are held in three two-storeyed buildings. The school has a library with a collection of about 10,000 books. [Muhammad Maniruzzaman]

Smart class, e-library & much moreWhen visitors enter the two-storey green building of Puri Zila School, the neat and clean floor with shining tiles catches their eye. The photos of illustrious students including political activist Gopabandhu Das, historian and educator Nilkakantha Das and freedom fighter Acharya Harihar Das adorn one of the walls.

The Odisha government has already taken steps to introduce students to Artificial Intelligence (AI) for which it launched the Artificial Intelligence for Youth initiative in May. The initiative is for students below 18 years from 5T schools and Odisha Adarsh Vidyalayas.

In the e-library, there were only two lights and eight computers. Two students were riveted to the computer screen, but electricity kept interrupting the session. A few paces away from the library, students of the 5th standard sat on the floor inside a class with no electricity.

In collaboration with the 'GIVE Foundation,' we ventured into the realm of exceptional learning at Zilla Parishad School, Hiwali, Nashik, located 75 km from Nashik City. Students, aged 4 to 12, demonstrated remarkable skills that left an impression. During our Christmas Donation Drive, our team generously contributed various items, including books, clothing, stationery, edibles, and toys, to support these underprivileged children. Witnessing the joy on students' faces was truly rewarding when we handed over this donation to them. A warm welcome and handshakes extended by the students as they guided us through the school's vibrant ambiance made this experience uniquely special.

S&W partnered with The Healing Touch Foundation, for the upliftment of the Zila Parishad Central Primary School in Chilwadi, and helped in the construction of school toilets, ground well, and levelling of the school ground.

Sterling & Wilson has adopted Kalsumpada tribal village for overall development of the population, and especially the children. We donated educational material and provided safe drinking water solutions.

According to officials, the state government plans to provide and promote merit in education, good academic standards and overall development of children in these school, an Indian Express report said.

A government notification from the state said that the main aim behind such initiative was to attract parents to these schools and create an atmosphere where students willingly come to schools even on Saturdays and Sundays and take part in school activities.

The government notification also stated that as basic levels of reading, writing and computational skills will be essential for students, libraries should provide diverse books and initiatives to encourage creative and critical thinking. The notification also said that every Saturday would be declared as a 'bag free day' in order to reduce stress among the students.

As per the guidelines of the New Education Policy, these model schools will have all the facilities such as independent toilets, drinking water facilities, well-maintained buildings and classrooms, playgrounds, sports equipment, ICT labs, science labs and libraries. These schools will function as a "school complex", wherein other schools and teachers can use their facilities.
