ToshibaApplication and Driver Installer gives you a way to install drivers and applications onto your system. You may want to use this function to install an application or a driver that has been uninstalled, re-install software that is not operating correctly or add software that was not part of the default pre-install.

If this utility or feature is not installed on your computer, you can verify if it is available for your specific model under "Downloads" on the TOSHIBA support web site (support.toshiba.com). Not all utilities are available for every model and operating system. When installing any utilities, install the TOSHIBA Value Added Package first.

Simply with just a click of a button, the Toshiba Driver Update Utility automatically scans your computer for driver updates. Results are displayed consisting of a pie chart with the total number of current and outdated drivers on your computer. Each driver is shown with its name, associated device and a link to download the best compatible version. If any drivers are outdated or missing, the utility alerts you. The Toshiba Driver Update Utility allows unlimited downloads of all your driver updates.

Comprehensive Toshiba support is just one click away. Updating Toshiba Drivers is provided as part of the DriverFix utility package provided by Kape. The DriverFix support software allows you to update all of the device drivers on your PC.

Note: We strongly recommend backing up your drivers before performing any driver updates. This utility will allow you to back up all your drivers directly from within the utility. Your drivers will be saved in a compressed zip file. This is an important feature that will save you a lot of time.

DriverFix updates all your Windows drivers with just one click for Peak PC performance. We employ a database of over 500,000 certified, up-to-date drivers which are available to fix millions of devices. There are a total of over 18 million drivers available for download. DriverFix uses advanced technology to assess your PC drivers' status to find all the problematic drivers in a matter of seconds. Your computer performance can be significantly improved with just a simple click of the software's Update All button.

I have skimmed through the Dell Support Utilities that came with my Dell XPS 8930 computer that has a 512 Gb KIOXIA NVME SSD as its system drive. Any diagnostic tools for the hard drive seem to be very uninformative blackbox PASSED or not tools with no real report on the state of the SSD. In contrast, I have installed a Crucial and a Samsung SSD to replace mechanical hard drives in older laptops. Both non-Dell SSD's came with great management utilities that in particular tell me what % of the write life of the SSD I have used up and the reports are sensitive to enough decimal places I can actually tell if anything I'm doing, say in machine learning, is chewing up a substantial amount of SSD write-life on a day-to-day basis.

Is there any SSD management utility from Dell or KIOXIA that can be used on a DELL XPS 8930 Special Edition without violating the Dell warranty? I have also inquired through a Service Request to Dell but sometimes community members are more knowledgeable than Support personnel....

I don't know if it will work with your OEM drive. Also, note that the web page says the SATA controller should be in AHCI mode. I know that for Samsung SSDs, Samsung Magician also requires AHCI mode. Dell sets SATA operation at the factory to RAID. You cannot just change SATA operation in the BIOS from RAID to AHCI because Windows is installed in RAID mode. You either had to reinstall Windows after switching to AHCI in the BIOS or use this procedure to switch Windows from RAID to AHCI: -switch-windows-10-from-raidide-to-ahci-operation/

Thanks for the suggestion. It may explain why when I had previously installed the KIOXIA SSD utility, the utility said, "Hard Disk Not Found" and perhaps why when I looked in Device Manager on my Dell XPS 8930, I did not see an IDE controller device listed as I had wanted to see if it were set to AHCI mode (or using an AHCI driver as the SSD's I installed on some other computers do).

Thanks @RealHelper1 for the suggestion at the French site but that's FIRMWARE, not a disk management utility, which is what I wanted, and it also appears to be a firmware update for an older type of Toshiba SSD, KBG...., whereas my KIOXIA drive is KXG...., presumably a drive produced long after Toshiba shed its subsidiary....

I don't know if a moderator marked the thread as SOLVED (I don't remember doing so). But just to be clear, I haven't found any solution yet and I recall that soon after I got my computer over 6 months ago, I called Dell and asked them about a disk management utility for the KIOXIA drive in the Dell XPS 8930 Special Edition and the support agent said that there was none other than the scanning tool in the Dell Support utility, which just give a PASSED/NOT PASSED grade, etc. So maybe if a moderator happens to read this post, they can unmark the thread solved or if a Dell or KIOXIA disk management utility now exists, provide a link.

I just tried the following KIOXIA utility for their Exceria line of NVMe M.2 SSD's. Doesn't work. As before says "No recognized drives"

Ran out of time to edit my just-previous post. The link to the KIOXIA Exceria disk management utility that doesn't work for KIOXIA NVMe KXG... drive in Dell XPS 8930 is SSD Utility Management Software KIOXIA

Hi Jim, thank you for sharing the details and we apologize for the delay in response. Unfortunately we do not have any such utilities or applications available with us. Is there any issue that you are facing with the system?

Hi I have a bit of a problem... I downloaded the intel driver update utility to make sure my drivers are up-to-date, and it showed a chipset device software so downloaded and installed it. All fine and good. At the end of the install, it asked me to reboot for the install to be finished, so I did. Yet when I started up the driver update utility to check if the installation was really all right, it said "not installed" and when I checked regedit, it said "requires reboot true".

System specifications provided via a scan from intel system support utility attached. I know my system is pretty old and might not be compatible with the latest drivers as I didn't find my videocard or processor among the list at the latest driver, but the driver update should have picked up on that right?

I am facing trouble printing receipts on a new installed Toshiba 4610/6145 receipt printer.. OPOS driver.. The printer prints test receipts from the configuration utility but when trying to print from the POS it generates an error(Hardware Station Error, there was an error while printing, Check the device or see your system administrator)

I would recommend removing all logos, barcodes from the receipt and try printing a very simple receipt. Can you also check the version Common Control Objects used by the Toshiba OPOS driver and the same is installed. Even though CCO is not listed as pre-requisite, i have seen printers working after you install the correct CCO version. Also check with your vendor if there is an option to use Epson OPOS driver for the Toshiba printer, try using Epson OPOS utility for the configuration.

I'm having some issues on rebuilt clients installing the drivers for Sharp MX-4012n. There are two policies running. One that installs the drivers and another that has the following script to change permissions:Sudo chmod 775 "/Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/SHARP MX-4112N.PPD.gz"

I've seen similar behavior with some Epson printer drivers. A restart of the computer after installing the drivers made this error message go away (for us). I have no knowledge or experience with Sharp printers...

Perhaps this isn't what you're interested in, but we've had enough issues with dealing with this and other CUPS/privilege issues. So, after borrowing several one liners I run the following script at firstboot (or via self-service):

I'm sure that there's a much slicker way to accomplish this, but this adds all users to the lpadmin group and further allows them to install printer drivers via apples integrated utility. I'll admit, I took the easy way out on this one.

Running into this same exact issue with the latest Xerox Fiery drivers. With the older ones I could go into the package and extract the core installer (bypassing their oh so helpful wizard) and then install via script.

The latest drivers are using flat packages so I'm having trouble getting the installer out of it. I've tried capturing the install with Composer but using that is what is giving me the "You need to install software" error once installed.

I get this with everything, including Papercut "Follow Me" printer. We only ever set up to print postscript and load in the right PPD. Is it something to worry about? If it's not, how can you stop it popping up little warning triangles next to the printer name?

In case it helps anyone, the solution for us was to comb through the used PPD for references to all other installed elements (usually in /Library/Printers/etc) and comment out the ones we know we don't care to install.
