Hey Rafael, thanks for the suggestions, I just saw this one now, but I found that truncate function and used it for the buckets… btw I used it for the main text only, not including title and city/country, but looks like we’ll need to use it for the entire bucket as the text is getting out of the frame because of the large titles we have for some organizations. I will do this tonight. And I agree with you about the “register” link hidden, will think in a solution for that and for the AddThis toolbox too.
Wait for more updates tonight! ;)
Thanks everyone!

Hi Natalia,
Thanks again for the help with the layout! We really need it :-)
The #body id was a merge issue that I didn't noticed. I changed the id to #main_body, and pushed the new code to the dev environment.
About my first thoughts around the layout:
- I agree with Daniel, we should not mention TW. Because of company issues, but specially because there are people contributing to the project now that aren't from TW (like you :-) )
- Not sure about rotating the background image, it may cause some contrast issues
- We were already planning to truncate the organizations text in the main page, so all the boxes have the same size. It would be a good idea to it now. It'll help with the alignment issue
- The registration button is kind of "hidden" in the bottom of the page. Can we move it up or put in a side pane?
- The about page needs a kind of "container" to overcome the contrast issues
Here are some comments from Pedro Pimentel:
- background image: its quality is very low, makes somewhat hard to
read the white text
- organization list: in my FF it's displaying 2 organizations side by
side. it could take benefit of higher resolutions by displaying more
organizations side by side
Also, we are planning to add an AddThis toolbox (http://www.addthis.com/pages/gallery-demo-addthis-icons-32x32) to improve the share feature. Any ideas on how can we fit it in the layout?

Cool! Thanks guys, I will take a look at the below issues and some other things that I noticed.
There’s an id #body in the body tag, why was it added? That id is overwritten the background style I created to body, that’s why the background image is weird. And yes, it’s from AFASO, but my idea was to have our own images there, once we go more active, we could populate a Flickr account and make the background image with some of those (rotating on the page load), what do you think?
Let me know if you find any more issues, or want any other changes .
I’ll ask for another pull request this night.
Thanks,

Natalia,
Check the new layout in our dev environment.
Some things I saw that we need:
- better background image (that one is from AFASO right?)
- organization boxes are not aligned
- about page with lot of contrast (background x text) '
- not sure we can keep that "Let' Help it is a project idealized by TW-Brazil"
What other things we see? Rafael?

I just did it, but I pulled to a new branch called 'new_layout' for now.
The idea is to keep the master branch 'stable', so we can keep working on it while we do the final touchs in the layout.
I also pushed the new layout to http://letshelpit-dev.heroku.com for testing it.

At the URL you have commands to bring Natalia's code and test it.

nataliarsand wants someone to pull from nataliarsand:master:
Totally new visual identity for the application--from layout to brand, giving life to it in a unique way while leaving room for more improvements, like new features and enhanced messaging, which I'm more than willing to contribute in the days to come.
The idea came from a chat with Daniel Wildt and the huge interest from my part to contribute to such a great app.
It's fully functional in all browsers, although it might require a few pixel-perfecting fixes. There's more work to do, but before iterate over it, I believe we should test, deploy and then collaboratively figure out where we want to go from here.
Let me know your thoughts and please send me whatever feedback you have on the VID/layout revamp!

Coolio… yeah you’re right, will make the boxes wider… and make two per row maybe..
(I am not able to send it to the list, can you add this email in the group, Daniel? No way to use gmail from Dell’s network)
Thanks,
