Hi Alex,
I did some revision on Else's version, may you ask for Maggie's comment on this?
"Chinese Council of America (CCoA), being formed by a few Chinese Americans, will be a not-for-profit nongovernmental organization with a mission to help Chinese students from orphanages and under-privileged families finish their K to 12 education in China, and further to promote leadership learning opportunities for them inside China or in the United States.
With very limited resources, CCoA intends to work primarily to provide financial support to Chinese orphans. CCoA also aims to maximize and leverage its resources by collaborating with other not-for-profit organizations on a case-by-case basis."
Jay's asking his friend about some legal issue on the registration.
Charmaine
By the way, when my friend heard of the name of CCoA, she got confused, here's what she thought: "It sounds to me like a Chinese organization instead of an American one. Chinese Council of America? To me, the name connotes some Chinese organization concerned about the whole America. That's a bit too ambitious and ambiguous."

Hi Alex,
Do you think the purpose is still narrowly defined? According to the comment from Jay's friend, we may get trouble in the future if we try to do something beyond the scope stated..
