Ok so here is how it is shaping up for filling the gardens

30 cubes composted mulch TCC $405
20 cubes green mulch TCC- free
20 Cubes organic soil (James Redwood) (free product just transport charge) EST $300-$400
10 cubes of Paunch $112
40 Cubes of organic Compost (Revital) $1840 or $2600 with 30% vermicast added
60 bales of barley straw- $10 each $600

Total with vermicast for all gardens $4117 for 130 cubes of fill approx $60-$70 per garden

Personally i am comfortable with this total price all of these prices are great deals, they are super quality products and a good diversity. this will also mean we will have plenty to do the perimter gardens and have a little left over for future add ons.

Would be great to hear your thoughts- anne and Kim and everyone else as i need to begin arrange this tomorrow if possible.

Thanks

Great Joel.
I think the adition of vermicast would be a bonus. I was worried that too much straight compost might be too strong for some things. Do you mean that the TCC mulch is being delivered for free? I thought we had to organise that part ourselves.ie pay for the delivery

Sounds great!  I think adding the vermicast would be great to really get things humming but would be happy to hear others thoughts on this.

Otherwise go for gold Joel - nice work!

Vermicast is good soil filler material, but has had a lot of the nutrients removed. I have tried planting directly into pure vermicast, and the plants either refuse to grow or keel over. So its great stuff to bulk things out if needed, but i wouldn't worry about getting it in there for nutrient addition.
