Yes. With Snagit, you can toggle between recording your camera and screen or capture both at the same time. You can even change the shape and size of your camera video or move it to different recording areas.

Sharing your screen recordings with Snagit is both simple and versatile. You can create a link to your content that you can share anywhere. You can also upload directly to popular apps like YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, and more.

Creating animated GIFs from your screen recordings with Snagit is incredibly simple. Once you've captured your desired content, choose the GIF option in the video editing toolbar. You can customize your GIF settings, such as frame rate and size, and then share or save your animated GIF.

Snagit is more than a screen recorder; it offers comprehensive features that are easy to use. Snagit provides advanced features that basic or built-in screen recording tools lack. You can record audio, edit, animate clicks, create GIFs, and more with Snagit.

Snagit offers the ability to record the entire screen, a specific window, or a custom-selected area. This flexibility makes it perfect for various recording needs, from full-screen presentations to focused tutorials.

While recording your screen, Snagit allows you to draw on your screen with arrows, shapes, and step numbers in custom colors. You can add clarity to your recordings by highlighting your cursor or animating clicks.

Absolutely! Snagit is a powerful screen recorder and an excellent tool for capturing and editing static screenshots. You can capture your entire screen, a specific window, or a selected area. Even if you need to scroll up and down or side to side, you can still capture the screenshot.

Snagit's built-in editor lets you add text, arrows, shapes, and step numbers to your screenshots. This helps highlight specific areas of an image and provide context. You can crop, resize, and add effects like borders and shadows to your images.

Camtasia is a recording software that allows you to record and clip whatever is happening on your screen: perfect for filming webinars or video tutorials. This guide shows you how to get started with the software, and how to edit some basic clips recorded.

1. Firstly, select the area of your screen that you wish to record. The area that is being recorded is marked by a dotted green line. You can change the size of the recording capture by pressing the button "Custom" and moving the dimensions of the green box to whatever you wish to capture. NOTE: The default setting for changing the size of the box is locked to the same dimensions as your screen: if you want more control over the size of the box recording, press the lock button once, to unlock the dimensions and draw the box. Hovering over an application will make Camtasia snap to the dimensions of that application's browser size.

3. While recording, you also have the option to record your own video alongside the screen recording. You can toggle between this option using the button, as pictured below. Press on the arrow next to the Camera button to select which camera to take input from: if you have more than one camera attached to your computer.

4. You can also choose to record an audio narration of your screen recording, and you can toggle those settings with the button below. Press the arrow button next the microphone option to toggle between the available microphones attached to your computer. You can test the audio by speaking naturally into the microphone, and seeing whether the dB count is picking up your voice. If the microphone input levels are too soft or too loud, adjust them with the little slider indicated below.

4. You can also record the system audio of your computer (useful, for example, if you wish to screen record the native sounds of an application, or if you wish to screen record a video). In order to adjust the settings for this, press blah blah blah.

5. To get started, press the record button. The screen will blacken, and you will have a 3 second countdown before the recording begins. The Camtasia Settings box will disappear: so you cannot adjust settings mid-recording! When you have finished recording, right-click the icon for Camtasia in your taskbar, press on "stop Recording" and the recording will stop. NOTE: In order to make the editing easier in the future, it might be better to not record your full screen, and have the Camtasia icon outside of your recording area.

When you press the play button on the main screen, you will notice that in the Timeline view underneath, a cursor is running along with the video you have recorded, showing the timestamp/audio-wave of the images on the screen. Bracketing this cursor is a smaller green cursor to the left, and a smaller red cursor to the other side. These mark the limits of a selection of the video.

By default, Camtasia uses a feature called smart-focus to record only the active part of the screen. This means that for example if a notepad and a browser are opened and you are working only on the notepad, then Camtasia will focus only on the notepad.

After finishing the video editing in Camtasia, you can save it to your PC or share it to social media platform such YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive. Sharing in Camtasia is easy, just click the Share button on the right corner and then select the platform to continue. Follow the instruction on the screen to share your videos.

Defining and categorizing Camtasia is becoming more and more complex with every new version. What used to be the reference tool for screen capture and screen recording is now also a feature-rich multi-track video editor, producer, and enhancer. Thus, praising its professional HD-quality video recording capabilities is only going half the way. Camtasia is still the model for intuitive and high-quality tutorial and demo video production, but it is also slowly but surely becoming a serious contender for well-established video-editing tools.

Camtasia ( /kæmˈteɪʒə/; formerly Camtasia Studio[3] and Camtasia for Mac[4]) is a software suite, created and published by TechSmith, for creating and recording video tutorials and presentations via screencast (screen recording), or via a direct recording plug-in to Microsoft PowerPoint. Other multimedia recordings (microphone, webcam and system audio) may be recorded at the same time or added separately (like background music and narration/voice tracks). Camtasia is available in English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and Chinese versions.

In Camtasia Recorder, users can start and stop recording with shortcuts at any time, at which point the recording is halted, and Camtasia Recorder can render the input that has been captured into the TREC format. The TREC file can be saved to disk or directly imported into the Camtasia component for editing. Camtasia Recorder allows audio (and webcam) recording while screen recording is in progress, so the presenter can capture live narration during a tutorial or presentation. Camtasia also supports dubbing in other audio tracks or voiceover during post-capture editing. Windows users may also install an add-in for Microsoft PowerPoint that will allow them to initiate recording of a presentation from within PowerPoint itself.
