A quick way to do this is to use simple promotional tools like sponsored posts to reach out to your social media network. Your playlist could also be advertised personally. Contact your local venues, bars, independent shops and cafs and ask them to shuffle it.

Reddit's Spotify Playlists subreddit hosts a competition every month for the best playlist created within a theme. Alternatively, you can simply upload to this subreddit which helps to bring the power of Reddit's ranking algorithm to Spotify playlist discovery.

The We Are the Music Makers subreddit is another online community perfect for playlist exchanges. There are different competitions every week to create a buzz, where users post comments and regularly check out the work of others.

Make your playlists more shareable with Spotify Codes. You can get your friends and followers to scan your playlist code on their phones to instantly play music. You'll find your playlist's code by clicking on the ellipsis (...) menu, and the code will be attached to the bottom of your playlist artwork. You can then save it to your camera roll for easy sharing.

You could also upload a photo or screenshot of your playlist code to Instagram for your followers to scan using the new camera icon situated to the right of the Spotify searchbar, or include it on any flyers, posters or promotional material.

Services like Tune My Music allow you to take this strategy up a level, letting you share your Spotify playlist not just with other Spotify users, but with users of any other streaming service - increasing the overall reach of your playlists.

Although you may be curating playlists with music created by other artists, there are lots of ways to keep it original. Try to create your own unique themes and set yourself apart from other Spotify playlist-makers.

Once you authenticate with Spotify, your playlists will appear below. Select a playlist to change the order of songs and wait for a message. Easy peasy.Once it completes though, it can't be reversed by this tool. So make sure the list you want to change the order of is the correct one.

If you do end up using the tool and enjoyed the experience, please leave a comment down below!I never imagined so many people would find this tool useful. I just built it for myself and put it out there for anyoneelse to use.

What do I do after I randomize a playlist?
Once your playlist has been randomzied/shuffled, go to your playlist in spotify, make sure the sort order is set to "Custom order" and also turn off "shuffle" and then start playing from the first track! The tooljust put your entire playlist in a new order for you so you want to play from the first track.

Can you randomize/shuffle my liked songs?
Sorry, unfortunately Spotify does not allow access to moving the liked songs around. One workaround is that you can make a copy of your liked songs as a new playlist and shuffle that one. I know it's not ideal, butit does work

Failed to get the Playlist info, unable to continue shuffling. If this error continues, please let me know the date/time (with timezone) of when you tried to shuffle and then I can hopefully see the error and fix it.

Spotify has the highest market share of all music streaming services in the world. Its popularity and brand recognition are unmatched. But how do you use Spotify to start earning money?

Selling your own merchandise is an underrated option for making money on Spotify. With the accessibility, influence, and popularity of eCommerce, selling custom-branded products takes about as much effort as managing a social media profile.

Printify is a Print on Demand (POD) platform for creating custom merch by applying your designs to high-quality products. Our global network of Print Providers will then produce and ship them straight to you or your customers.

With over 900 products in our Catalog and a beginner-friendly design tool, Printify offers artists free resources to create and sell their merch through a variety of popular online sales channels with no minimum order required.

Promote new releases well in advance to gain more organic streams. Schedule release dates and send listeners a Spotify presale link for tours, merch, and campaigns on social media or via email.

Growing your expertise is especially important if you want to sell playlists as a distributor or become a reviewer for specific genres. The longer you commit to your genre, the more your name gets out there and becomes an important piece of branding for artists.

What better way to empower popularity on a streaming service than by bringing your music to a live stage? While digital music streaming services enable artists to find fans all over the world, nothing beats starting a new music career with the heightened emotions of a gig at the local venue.

The giant retail platform is a good middle ground for cost-effectiveness and overall stream volume. Amazon Music delivers a comprehensive recommendation algorithm and high-resolution options and pays around $4 per 1,000 streams.

With multiple opportunities and support for the brave journey through the music industry, Printify encourages independent artists and entrepreneurs to find unique ways to gain money and build their brands.

Spotify (/ˈspɒtɪfaɪ/; .mw-parser-output .IPA-label-smallfont-size:85%.mw-parser-output .references .IPA-label-small,.mw-parser-output .infobox .IPA-label-small,.mw-parser-output .navbox .IPA-label-smallfont-size:100%Swedish: [ˈspɔ̂tːɪfaj]) is a Swedish[6] audio streaming and media service provider founded on 23 April 2006 by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon.[7] It is one of the largest music streaming service providers, with over 615 million monthly active users, including 239 million paying subscribers, as of March 2024.[4][8] Spotify is listed (through a Luxembourg City-domiciled holding company, Spotify Technology S.A.[1]) on the New York Stock Exchange in the form of American depositary receipts.

Spotify offers digital copyright restricted recorded audio content, including more than 100 million songs and six million podcast titles, from record labels and media companies.[8] As a freemium service, basic features are free with advertisements and limited control, while additional features, such as offline listening and commercial-free listening, are offered via paid subscriptions. Users can search for music based on artist, album, or genre, and can create, edit, and share playlists.

Spotify is available in most of Europe, as well as Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania, with a total availability in 184 markets.[9] Its users and subscribers are based largely in the US and Europe, jointly accounting for around 53% of users and 67% of revenue.[10] It has no presence in mainland China where the market is dominated by QQ Music. The service is available on most devices, including Windows, macOS, and Linux computers, iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, smart home devices such as the Amazon Echo and Google Nest lines of products, and digital media players like Roku.[11] As of December 2023, Spotify was the 47th most-visited website in the world with 24.78% of its traffic coming from the United States followed by Brazil with 6.51% according to data provided by Semrush.[12][13]

Unlike physical or download sales, which pay artists a fixed price per song or album sold, Spotify pays royalties based on the number of artist streams as a proportion of total songs streamed. It distributes approximately 70% of its total revenue to rights holders (often record labels), who then pay artists based on individual agreements.[14] While certain musicians have voiced objections to Spotify's royalty structure and its effect on record sales, others laud the service for offering a lawful option to combat piracy and for remunerating artists each time their music is played.[15]

Spotify was founded in 2006 in Stockholm, Sweden,[16] by Daniel Ek, former CTO of Stardoll, and Martin Lorentzon, co-founder of Tradedoubler.[17][18] According to Ek, the company's title was initially misheard from a name shouted by Lorentzon. Later they conceived a portmanteau of "spot" and "identify".[19]

In February 2009, Spotify opened public registration for the free service tier in the United Kingdom.[17] Registrations surged following the release of the mobile service, leading Spotify to halt registration for the free service in September, returning the UK to an invitation-only policy.[20]

In April 2016, Ek and Lorentzon wrote an open letter to Swedish politicians, demanding action in three areas that they claimed hindered the company's ability to recruit top talent as Spotify grew, including access to flexible housing, better education in the programming and development fields, and stock options. Ek and Lorentzon wrote that to continue competing in a global economy, politicians needed to respond with new policies, or thousands of Spotify jobs would be moved from Sweden to the United States.[23]

In February 2017, Spotify announced the expansion of its United States operations in Lower Manhattan, New York City, at 4 World Trade Center, adding approximately 1,000 new jobs and retaining 832 existing positions.[24] The company's US headquarters are in New York City's Flatiron District.[25]

In October 2015, "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran became the first song to pass 500 million streams.[27] A month later, Spotify announced that "Lean On" by Major Lazer and DJ Snake featuring M was its most-streamed song of all time with over 525 million streams worldwide.[28] In April 2016, Rihanna overtook Justin Bieber to become the biggest artist on Spotify, with 31.3 million monthly active listeners.[29] In May 2016, Rihanna was overtaken by Drake with 31.85 million monthly listeners.[30] In December 2016, Drake's just-under 36 million monthly listeners were overtaken by the Weeknd's 36.068 million.[31] Later that same month, Drake's song "One Dance" became the first song to hit one billion streams on Spotify.[32][33] Upon its release in August 2017, the single "Look What You Made Me Do" by Taylor Swift earned over eight million streams within 24 hours, breaking the record for the most single-day streams for a track.[34] On 19 June 2018, XXXTentacion's hit single "Sad!" broke Swift's single-day streaming record, amassing 10.4 million streams the day after he was fatally shot in Florida.[35]
