This year the NYC Winter Solstice is set for December 10. As was tradition before the pandemic, we (Skylar Crossman and I) are organizing the East Coast Rationalist Megameetup around that. We have rented a house in Hoboken, NJ from the evening of Friday 12/9 to the morning of Monday 12/12. Expect general socializing, the solstice afterparty, an unconference on Sunday, snack food, two organized meals on Saturday and one on Sunday, and space to sleep (which may be an air mattress). There are usually people from other cities, ranging from Boston to DC to Berkeley. I've been twice in the past and it has always been a great experience, both as an opportunity to make new friends in the broader rationalist community and to catch up with old ones. You can register at rationalistmegameetup.com. The standard ticket for the whole weekend is $200. If you don't make tech/finance money and that is difficult for you, there is a subsidized ticket for $100, and if even that is too much, email me and I'll see what we can do. There is also an option to just come and hang out during the day, and go back to your own place to sleep at night, for which the ticket is $25. Email me with any questions.
